I had a very terrible experience at AJ Market that I feel other customers should be aware of. During checkout, the cashier charged me 10 cents for a single‑use plastic bag without informing me beforehand. What made the situation even worse is that she never gave me the bag at all. I was essentially charged for nothing. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME! This didn’t feel like an honest mistake. It came across as intentional overcharging, and when I questioned it, the cashier’s attitude was extremely rude and dismissive. There was no apology, no explanation. just unprofessional behavior that made the entire interaction uncomfortable. To make matters more concerning, selling single‑use plastic bags is illegal starting in 2026, so charging customers for something that shouldn’t even be provided is unacceptable. I will report this violation to the California Attorney General's Office. Overall, this experience left a very negative impression. I hope the management addresses this issue, because customers deserve transparency, respect, and lawful business practices.

Does anyone else make that almost 1 hour drive to come here for Ansom Chrouk, or is it just my family? Many Asian drinks and snacks here, as well as basic ingredients one would need for almost any Asian dish. The staff (mainly the checkers) are pretty funny to talk to. It's not a large store, but it has everything you may want for your dish and the pricing is better than going to an American store.

Very clear, lot of fresh foods/products with reasonable price

Pre cook and pre made food are good but whoever making these needs to wear hair net. Few times now yellow egg noodles with long hair

They always call me "sis" and that makes me feel welcomed and part of the family. Very clean and great service!

Love this store! Been coming here for years. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food quality and variety too.

Love this place.. the veggies are always fresh, the cut of meats are fresh daily because it's a small operation.. a little bit of everything you'll need for your Asian food fix
