Hanmi Oriental Food & Gift Shop

Very cute Korean convenient store nearby the campus area. A little bit pricier than where I usually shop but understandable. The staff was very kind. Will comeback for more grocery shopping! <3

Cute little store for Korean trinkets and meal necessities! Very friendly staff, both human and canine. Will definitely be returning when I will have more immediate access to a freezer and fridge to take advantage of the good selection in those departments (and also to hopefully pet Benji some more).

This place is so amazing. I’ve been going since I was 13 or 14 years old with my mother has such an amazing selection of snacks and marinated Meats the owner is such a friendly person. And now that I’m 23. I love it even more.

This market is a small/cute 한국 시장 that is super authentic and you won’t find anywhere else around CT. Theres a huge variety of groceries and snacks that you can’t purchase most places. The lady/owner (한미) at the counter is extremely nice, as well as her son and his wife when they take over the shift. Very cute dog, and the fresh made 김밥 is delicious. I also love that she lets you practice korean with her, she’s taught me a lot. Please check this place out if you’re in the area.

I was really excited to find this shop while passing through New Haven. This shop has a lot of Korean groceries but the best part is the homemade kimchi and other dishes. When I stopped by the first time, I picked up kimbab at the register and was really good! I wish I grabbed more. I went back to grab the kimchi and other side dishes to try and the owner gave me the dukboki I was gonna buy for free since she made it yesterday. I would definitely go back next time I’m ever in the area (Boston native).

Home made kimbap so good - definitely try if you’re around! Owner is very kind and welcoming

I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find any Korean grocery items when I moved here and was SO happy to find out this place exists!!! The owner is incredibly kind and the prices are very reasonable.
