Tokyo Central Costa Mesa

Love to come here for Hawaiian goods and Hawaiian Sun drinks. They have a great selection of fresh fish as well. Prices are competitive with other Asian grocery chains. If you’re looking to buy basics like bananas, milk, etc. you can get them for cheaper at Vons.

Tokyo Central is my go to for all Asian food needs. The prices and selections aren’t far wider, fresher, and at a lower cost than the competing Asian food store in the area. This is clear by the amount of patrons here versus the others. If you’re looking for some great already prepared Asian foods they got you covered with meals ready to go and sushi for tonight’s gathering. The produce is fresh and last longer than the other produce I’ve bought locally. There are so many healthy choices in the produce and refrigerated sections of the store. They carry items to make you own miso from fermented substrates. The store was clean and the staff were super helpful whenever I needed assistance. Tokyo central is my go to. Highly recommended.

Wow didn’t realize what I was missing we came in to check out this store this is another store that surely be one of our stops when we are in Costa Mesa. The bad thing is parking is a little challenging due to the small parking lot that all the other stores are sharing with this Japanese Market. We have shopped at the Gardena Store and Yorba Linda stores; service is great and the ready made food are all are all fresh. Maybe one day they will increase the size of this store as it is being dwarfed by the Gardena and Yorba Linda stores.

I love the wide selection of bento and Japanese’s beverage here! Price is also reasonable.

***** Update Recently, I was at this market and a Manager named *JEFF was very helpful with several issues I had 💯 Same with the clean up staff 🌟 They're quick & prompt to take care of anything that happens in the store. /// I come to this Market regularly, because it has a great variety of things for a Japanese Market. I see that the store is kept well, clean & organized. Which is a plus when it comes to finding things & ambiance. There's quite a bit of things I could say positive. I can tell you it's a place for me to be happy to go to. I was waiting in line & the Manager HIROKO came to me & helped me in another register, so I wouldn't have to wait. It was great service. She seems to keep the store very well & has a great attitude, good spirit a very professional person. As well, prior to that. I was looking through some things in the hot food section & was greeted by a security guard named MARTIN. We had a short gratifying conversation about the store Etc. He also was very kind, professional & a great attitude. He seem to keep things in line. As we spoke, he kept an eye out on the surroundings & helped several people as well. Great job to the Manager & Security. It's the kind of store that makes one feel good to be there and safe. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😎

Products have become very expensive here since inflation. I used to spend about $60, but now it costs around $100 to buy the same items. It’s freezing inside, the carts are old, and they never help me put my purchased items into bags even though I buy a lot every time. I don’t trust their vegetables… they are more expensive than at American stores, but often not fresh (see the photo; I just bought this yesterday), and they don’t have many organic options. My dog never eats their carrots. No more vegetables from Tokyo Central.
