Midoriya Japanese Grocery

The prices are really good!! And the people there were really sweet, I was so excited when I got the chance to practice a bit of my Japanese with them. So if you’re a Japanese language learner, then coming here is a great opportunity to get to know more about Japanese food and show off your knowledge on the Japanese language! Many of the items there have Japanese on it, as well as English. 💛💛 There’s so many delicious Japanese snacks, drinks n etc, so definitely worth checking out!! 💗

I come here for onigiri but recently discovered a new treat: they are now stocking food from Wasan. The curry was delicious. I’ve also picked up face oil, rice crackers and mochi from here. Fantastic spot.

Shopped there for the first time and it had a good selection of Japanese goods. Unfortunately the Wagyu beef is weighed with the packaging, so 25% of what we paid was just packaging.

They carry this item and I’ve been searching for this forever to mix into kewpie to dip fries in. 🔥🔥🔥

SO excited to have found Midoriya Japanese Grocery. I just moved back to Brooklyn after living in Osaka, Japan for 3 years and this store is a slice of everything I miss about Japan. I love it!

The older, short Japanese lady with the mask is incredibly rude. Maybe she’s the owner — I’m not sure — but she always seems angry. If a customer asks for help, the least she could do is respond politely, not snap with "What?" or "What do you want?" She was slamming things around so loudly, it honestly felt like she wanted everyone to know she was in a bad mood. Definitely not coming back.

We wanted to make onigiri so we stopped in to purchase the ingredients. Very clean and organized market with a very friendly staff. The woman walked us through the store and explained each of the ingredients we needed and had us try something extra to flavor the rice. We were happy with the results and have been back to grab more ingredients!
