⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great experience at my dermatologist appointment for my acne treatment! The staff was welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. My dermatologist took the time to really listen to my concerns, explain what was going on with my skin, and create a treatment plan that felt personalized to me. They were patient, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions without rushing. I left feeling confident and hopeful about finally getting my acne under control. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional dermatologist!

Denise Hixon is a great provider. She froze a lot of places on my scalp,face ,ear and hands and may sure that I would not look like the phantom of the opera for opening night

Denise Hixson and all the staff at DermSurgery have been fantastic. Denise is very caring and very thorough. Even with a worrying cancer diagnosis, I felt that all would be well. All of the follow-ups and appointments have been as easy as to be expected and I recommend their practice highly.

This office is always clean, and the staff is friendly, welcoming, prompt, and professional. I saw Denise today, and she was caring and concerned as always. Denise Hixon is absolutely tops. Thorough explanations on the clinical side. Procedure I needed went well. Total badass. If you need any dermatology healthcare, start with her! Plus, she is just very nice.

My appt was at 8:30am. I arrived at 8:00am and checked in. As soon as I took a seat in the waiting room the door opened and I was called in. The medical asst talked to me and asked what was going on. After she entered a few notes on my chart she said Dr Hixon would be right in. As I have experienced in the past at other doctor appts you will now sit in the exam room until after 8:30 but not in this case. Two minutes later Dr Hixon knocked and walked in. Dr Hixon introduced herself and immediatley asked to see the areas of concern. She told me exactly what the issues were and had her asst send a prescription to my pharmacy. Wow, done. That was fast. I was out of the clinic 12 minutes before my actual appt time. Great work, very friendly and knowledgable. The staff was awesome from the check in to the medical asst. Thanks for making my experience in your office a good one.

I’ve been using DermSurgery for 10+ years because of their Mohs surgeons, who all are very good. As their business has grown, the availability of doctors for regular dermatology appoints has diminished in the Woodlands office. They appear to be focused more on surgery and cosmetics and tend to follow today’s trend of generating cash flow. An example is how they manage their appointment times. On my last appointment which was deemed a full body check, I was told by PA Hixon that she would only check suspicious sites for cancerous concerns and told me I would need another appointment for sites I considered troublesome. (Prior doctors have always used cryo on the spots I point out on my arms and hands.) I asked if it was because Dermsurgey limits the time they can spend with each patient? Basically yes, they have many patients they must see during office hours. So to stay on top of my skin care I would have to make an appointment one day for full body, and the next day for spot treatment. Translate: double office vi$it fees. It was ironic that there ware no patients waiting when I arrived and no patients waiting when I left! P. S. - They also now use their own pathology lab to examine biopsies, whereas they previously sent them to a third party. Think about that, for a doctor’s office that makes significant income from surgical removal of skin cancer!
