My experience with Blue Ocean Dermatology was extremely disappointing and concerning. While accompanying a friend to an appointment, I scheduled my own visit for January 15, 2026. I have two insurance plans (one through my husband and one through my employer), and the front desk staff reviewed both cards and assured me the visit would be covered aside from my co-pay. I later had to reschedule due to the flu, and my appointment was moved to February 3, 2026. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I gave the front desk associate my last name three times and was asked whether I even had an appointment. I confirmed it was at 2:15 PM. He then informed me it had been canceled, yet I had never received a call or notification. I cannot easily take time off work, so this was extremely frustrating. A supervisor intervened and was able to fit me in about 15 minutes after my scheduled time. However, after waiting another 45 minutes, I was called back to the desk and told my insurance did not cover the visit and that I would need to pay $185 out of pocket. I was essentially told "sorry, but that’s your only option." After going back and forth, I was instructed to wait for the billing department to call me. Billing confirmed that my insurance did cover the visit. I went back inside, and the issue was finally corrected. Unfortunately, the issues did not end there. I required a biopsy, which was performed today at a follow-up visit. During that appointment, several infection-control practices were alarming. The medical assistant put on gloves, adjusted the chair, attempted to plug something in on the floor, and did not change her gloves afterward. My sister asked whether she would be changing them, and the assistant responded, "I guess I can. Are you a nurse?"Whether or not my sister is a nurse should be irrelevant, basic cleanliness and sterile technique should be standard practice, especially before a biopsy. Additionally, the assistant used a rubbing alcohol spray with gauze for preparation in a way that seemed unusual, and during the procedure she sprayed her gloved hands with alcohol. After the procedure, blood was left on my arm, and when I asked for it to be cleaned, it was done without gloves. Between the scheduling confusion, insurance misinformation, dismissive communication, and concerning hygiene practices, I do not feel confident returning to this office. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as patients deserve clear communication and safe, professional care.

I have been a patient for a few years. Unfortunately my last 3 visits have been unpleasant. Besides the staff bathing in perfume, I had several spots to freeze on my face that did not freeze. On my follow up I was informed I had two spots that needed to be removed or monitored, one on my shoulder and one on my arm. I wanted them removed. One of the two, the one my right arm, became infected. I called the office and was put into a chat session, which no problem, I provided my concerns, irritated skin, blistered. That was on a Tuesday, no call, no response. Went in on that Friday to have stitches removed, the assistant said, you should have been here two days ago....funny you mention that because I called and opened a chat, never got a response of any kind. I told her, when the Dr had to come in on that day, it was such chaos I chose to omit having the spots re-frozen. I was given a anti-biotic for 5 days. I took the Rx, kept it clean and neat, after the Rx, it became inflamed again. Upon cleaning it found another dark stitch left behind and the following day, another longer white stitch hanging out of my arm. I again called, opened a chat after receiving a call 9 days after my first chat advising I had already been back since then. I opened another chat, last Wed, 2/4 with an urgent message. Added to that Chat on Sunday 2/8. Keep in mind they may not monitor their Chats on Sundays. (or apparently any other day) Today is Monday, 2/9/26 about 3:40 p.m. I also sent a photo of the stitch sticking out of my arm @ 11:55 a.m. on Sunday 2/8/26. I have had ZERO response. No call, no email, no chat, no text......NOTHING. I went to Urgent Care in my Primary Physicians office today to be checked and obtain a Rx for an Antibotic. Also, I will need an ultrasound to determine if there are any other stitches inside this huge wound. This small freckle is now larger than the surgical scar from my should surgery! The last visit NOBODY in the reception area knew what they were doing, who was doing what, it was a zoo. The wait time was extreme and almost every chair was full. Not to mention I have been asked for my insurance cards 7 times....needless to say I will not be returning to BlueOcean Derm / Port Orange. Read all the reviews, maybe it is just Port Orange, but they aren't getting another opportunity with me. Also, my Doctor that I saw today, had a similar experience with this office. Sad, hope they figure out the accountability.

My grandson has been going to Blue Ocean Dermatology for a couple of years. Recently the arrival of Dr. Nicole Negroni has been a game changer for us. My grandson has made great strides in ridding his acne. He is almost done his six month plan. He looks fantastic. As far as Dr. Negroni goes, she’s always very pleasant and upbeat and actually has wonderful conversations with a 16-year-old. We are very thankful and I am very impressed!

The entire staff were courteous and knew their stuff. Jason took care of the things that had me most concerned quickly and pretty much painlessly. They sent off three mole biopsies to be analyzed and I should know the results within the next two weeks. Well, two weeks later, 2 mole biopsies came back benign The 3rd the biopsy, a core plug taken from the 3rd mole came back as pre-cancerous and an appointment was set up to remove more tissue around it. I got a little nervous about having it done, but I know not to fool around with something that could turn into cancer. Today I had the appointment to remove additional tissue around core of the 3rd mole. NP Rodregis prepped me and numbed up the area to be excised. Dr. Mark came in and put on music by Bob Marley. I immediately felt relaxed. I was awake for the whole procedure and hardly felt anything. All I know is that I wanted to hug Rodregis and Mark for being so kind and caring to me. Thank you so much.

I had a small urgent injury and I didn’t have to go to the ER because they gave me the first appointment in the morning. Overall, I wish all medical practices were like Blue Ocean. I was an office manager of a medical practice and a health care professional in the past and I’m always impressed by this practice. The physicians and staff provide high quality and personalized care.

Very upset with blue ocean dermatology. Went in December for a skin check up and was found to have some areas on my back that needed to be removed. Now we’re in the middle of February and I just had the spot removed on my back this morning, however they did not tell me that I was going to need to take time off from work because my job is physically demanding and the area where the spot was removed is on my back. I explained to them that a doctors note unfortunately does not work with my employer. Florida is a right to work state they can terminate you for whatever the reason they want and I don’t have any other options in terms of what I can do physically at work. that this was gonna be that big of a deal and that I would need to request off for this kind of time I would’ve done this another month. Essentially, what I’m complaining about is they didn’t warn me beforehand that this would be something that I would need to take some time off from work so this puts my job at risk and this also puts me at risk now for having to work and having these sutures on my back rip apart. This is not the first time I’ve had an issue with blue Ocean dermatology, but this will definitely be the last as I will no longer use blue ocean for my dermatology.
