Customer service is just one star. They have a requirement that new patient has to arrive 20 min earlier than the actual time of a scheduled appointment, but this rule is not being communicated at the time an appointment is scheduled. Office clerks do text this information on the day of the appointment, to unverified number, which is already too late for anyone who is working or have other appointments and meetings scheduled in advance for the same day. Small 10 min delay in traffic ( police blocked the freeway exit because of accident) will cause your appointment to be cancelled. And even worse, while you arrive and are staying in their office asking the office clerk to consider letting you still see the doctor, she will mark you in the system as "not showed for appointment". Not friendly, not caring.

My family goes to this exceptional and excellent Doctor. He knows everything there is to know about the body and skin. He is so very I kind and helpful with any of your problems. We call him the miracle worker because he is very much one! He can diagnose your issues very fast and takes his time with you to discuss your options. I’m very confident in him and his office staff. They always make room for you on his calendar also, quickly. A great Doctor, bar none. His office and staff are so friendly, helpful and kind. Every experience here is wonderful!

WARNING! Do NOT trust this incompetent dermatologist with your skin! I beg you, please, DO NOT go to this terrible doctor for your skin problems. Seeing him was the worst decision of my life, and it completely ruined my skin. In June 2024, I developed contact dermatitis and made the mistake of seeing this doctor. If I could turn back time, I would never have gone to him, no matter how desperate I was. There were already tons of bad reviews about him, but since he was the only one available quickly, I took the risk—and I regret it every single day. Why is he incompetent? 1️⃣ Reckless treatment for sensitive skin - If you have very sensitive skin, a competent doctor would usually recommend products for sensitive skin or advise you to stop using anything until your skin improves. But instead, this doctor gave me a bunch of product samples without considering my skin condition. - I trusted him and used the products he gave me—my skin had a severe reaction, and it has never recovered since. I am still undergoing treatment at a major hospital, and I have spent an enormous amount of money trying to fix what he did to my skin. 2️⃣ Misdiagnosis and harmful advice - After experiencing a severe reaction from his recommended product, my skin started peeling. When I went back to him, he completely misdiagnosed the issue and told me my skin was just very dry and that I needed to keep trying different products. - I followed his advice and kept trying new products, but my skin only became more and more sensitive until it refused to tolerate ANY products at all. - Eventually, I saw another dermatologist—they immediately recognized that my skin issue was simply my sunscreen pilling and told me to stop using all products. If only I had seen a real expert sooner! This doctor destroyed my skin, and I will never be able to go back to how it was before. Can you imagine? As a woman, not being able to wear makeup ever again? I haven’t been able to apply any moisturizer or sunscreen for 7 months. I don’t even know if I’ll ever be able to wear makeup again. I am beyond devastated. Because of him, I have spent so much money, suffered mentally, and have been battling depression since June 2024. Who is going to take responsibility for this? I want to sue him for ruining my life. 🚨 If you care about your skin, especially as a woman, STAY AWAY from this doctor. 🚨 I am warning you—DO NOT make the same mistake I did.

My experience at the California Skin Institute with Dr. Anhalt was unfortunately very disappointing. The photo shows the result of two attempts of Botox over 5 appointments, it looks asymmetric and incomplete. Dr. Anhalt has not disinfected the skin area nor took time to assess my facial movements and believes I am resistant to Botox (which was never a thing in the 7 years before at other dermatologists). I did not feel comfortable visiting the practice, as my subjective impression was that it was messy and rundown. The front office was friendly but not knowledgeable about their cosmetic treatments which made it consistently hard to make appointments. A frustrating and very costly experience for unfortunately a worse look than before.

Rushes appts, and he admitted that he's more for medical dermatology rather than skincare/cosmetic even though the website says that he does cosmetic. However, if you have standard medical dermatology concerns, it seems he is very knowledgeable. You really have to advocate for yourself in the appointments also as he rushes so if you are willing to say "wait I have more" then you can get the most out of the appointment. The front desk staff are lovely and they have TONS of free sample items. They told me to take as much as I wanted which was great because they have samples of some pricier items too.

The best in the business. I am rather anxious with medical procedures. Dr Anhalt has a great bedside manner and sense of humor that I really appreciated. He identified my issue right away, took care of it, answered my questions and he and his staff were caring and top notch professionals. Can’t recommend enough. They got me in quickly and were very easy to communicate with the whole time.

While I have had no issues with Dr. Anhalt in the past, I cannot say the same about his staff. For my last visit, I was there for my appointment and did not have a mask upon which I requested one and was told they do NOT have any and the only option for me is to reschedule. For starters, as a medical institution, this could be furthest from the truth but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I said I would go purchase one and return and was told by then your appointment will be gone and you need to reschedule. I informed, in that case I will call and reschedule and a week later, I get a No Show $75 dollar bill. I found myself another doctor. Would not recommend.
