Rachael Kappius, MD, FAAD

My general practitioner referred me to Dr. Kappius almost two years ago due to a basal cell carcinoma on my cheek. She thoroughly explained to me the procedure to remove it and put me at ease. In addition, from the very beginning, she helped me become more knowledgeable about how to care for my skin. Every checkup, she asks me if I have any questions and I have had many. Each time she takes as much time as needed to give me answers that are easy to understand and help me better know what lies ahead. Not only is she great, but the entire staff from the front desk to her assistant’s friendly and helpful demeanor make my appointments enjoyable. At first I wondered who my general practitioner was sending me to, but it turns out he sent me to the best dermatologist on the Western Slope.

This spring, I brought my 86yo mother in law to see Dr. Kappius. The mole that had to be removed was cancerous and involved more than an office visit procedure. Dr. Kappius was fantastic in explaining to us what the mole was, what needed to happen, and how to go about it. Three months later, the situation is much improved. I loved dealing with Dr. K and her office staff through what was a challenging medical ordeal, made better and easier by kind, caring, communicative providers. We highly recommend Dr. Kappius. My experience with Dr. Rachel Kappius has been excellent. She is very knowledgeable and patient. She took the time to answer all my questions and address my concerns.

I took Mark to his appointment today and it was the Best Dermatologist experience he has ever had! the entire staff was superstar wonderful and very helpful and Dr. Rachael Kappius was absolutely incredible ❤ she was so informative and intentive and very thorough and she answered all our questions and she was also extremely charismatic towards Marks sensitive skin issues and other various problems, we left with a smile on our face and feeling a whole lot better about Marks skin situation. Dr. Kappius.....what more can I say....she is incredibly gifted and I could not be more pleased after my surgery. I had a good sized lipoma on my head that embarrassed me and inconvenienced me for years. For me this was a scary journey to begin. Enter Rachael Kappius. From the moment I stepped into the office I felt reassured and very comfortable. After speaking with her I was so confident and excited to go through with the removal procedure. If that wasn’t enough, they were able to get me in the very next day!!!! The surgery was painless, and Dr. Kappius and her amazing assistant made it a great experience. To further my praise, her skill is beyond words. My head is perfectly symmetrical now, and I have to say her stitches were the best I had ever seen. From start to finish, Dr. Kappius exceeded my expectations and I recommend her to anyone! Especially if you are nervous or unsure about how to tackle an issue like mine. I owe her and her team so much because they have brought back my confidence to take my hat off and feel great about myself again! Thank you so much!!!!

Dr. Kappius acts like a toddler when frustrated even slamming the door on you when she decides she's done answering questions. Her staff is rude and arrogant her nurse tends to treat you like you are less than human, talking down to you and treating you like you are stupid. Every visit is uncomfortable and cold. 10/10 wouldn't recommend, unless you enjoy being ignored and leaving with unanswered questions and feeling about 2 inches tall.

OTC skin products and a strict skin care routine were not enough to deal with my hormonal acne. Dr. Kappius dialed in the products that I was using on my skin and added prescriptions to treat the cause, now my acne breakouts are gone and the dark spots are fading! I feel so confident and I am not trying to hide my skin behind tinted products anymore. I would highly recommend Dr. Kappius to anybody looking to improve their skin condition.
