This practice runs like a well-oiled machine, and Dr. Patel is one of the best physicians I've ever had. Very kind, quick, and thorough. Sometimes more cautious than I would prefer, but when it comes to skin cancer better to be safe than sorry.

Would not recommend this place nor would I return in the future. My experience was poor from the beginning. First I called to schedule the appointment and the lady on the phone was mostly kind. However, I realized they never asked for my insurance so I decided to call back to ensure I was covered. When I call the first lady who answers sounds annoyed as if I’m a burden, every time I tell her I’d like her to check my coverage she would make an excuse to not such as "Just do it in person", "you don’t need to check", and eventually she outright lied and said it was already on file even though I never provided it. When I refused to give up she then put me on hold for 10 minutes only for another lady to answer the phone with "what do you want". I ignore it for the sake of my appointment and go anyways. Once Dr. Kia sees me it was also subpar, as busy as I’m sure Dr. Kia is I believe I shouldnt be rushed out. Dr. Kia rushed in, asked what was happening, looked at my scalp for 10 seconds, then just told me he would prescribe medication and sent me on my way. This place seems more eager to charge you then to help you.

Dr. Kia was very friendly and professional at my first appointment with him. I went in for a skin cancer check due to some unknown bumps on my face. My appointment was at 9am, I arrived around 8:45am and was done by about 9:20am. He let me ask about my concerns first and educated me on what they were (thankfully not skin cancer). Then he did a full body check. He did diagnose me with rosacea and provided a prescription. The whole thing took about 5 minutes but it didn’t feel rushed. Overall it was a good experience and I will continue to see him for any skin concerns. I do wish the prescriptions would be sent electronically to the pharmacy but I can deal with paper prescriptions. The only thing I don’t like is the appointment system. You have to call and leave a message to make an appointment and then they will call back and schedule. I would rather call and have someone answer so I can make an appointment immediately as I may not be available when they call back. It would cut down on the back and forth.

The doctor seemed knowledgeable but very rushed, which affected the overall experience. The handwritten prescription instructions were unclear, even for the pharmacist. When I called today to clarify, the nurse seemed uncertain and changed the instructions twice during our conversation. I requested a follow-up via email or text for clarity, but this was denied. After being put on hold, the nurse returned and changed the instructions yet again. I hope these are now correct. I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Kia on Monday, October 7, and I hope the practice’s overall service experience is much improved. I will update this review based on that visit.

This review is for the office and does not represent Dr Kia. I have been a patient of Dr Kevin F Kia for many years, and he is a very good doctor. However, I made an appointment for my daughter, and the office refused to check the benefits. They won't tell me if the doctor still accept my insurance and what's my visit cost. Based on other reviews, it seems like there is a need for more training for the office personnel. Unfortunately, we will be seeing another doctor.

Dr Kia took a lipoma off my forehead and made the scar vertical so it completely stands out. I'm forever scarred. I honestly think he did that on purpose because I missed a couple of appointments previously. There was no reason why he had to put a vertical scar on my forehead when he could have just simply cut it horizontally like most surgeons do. He is not a good dermatologist

Had to call to cancel an appointment not once, but TWICE. Pretty sure they charge a "late" cancelation fee, too. Incompetence or malice? In either case, the front office staff clearly cannot run things appropriately. Doctor I met with was very rushed and did not listen to my concerns. I did not feel heard nor listened to. I had to take my prescription ON PAPER to the pharmacy, physically, in 2024. There was no option to have it sent on my behalf. Further, there were instructions written on my paper prescription that I was supposed to turn in to the pharmacy. The scribe advised me that I need to take a picture or otherwise write down the directions, as the pharmacy would not retain the instructions. Sure enough, they were not printed on my bottle as written. This seems careless at best, and dangerous at worst, impacting patient safety and care. There are hundreds of dermatologists in the dfw area. Go to literally anyone else.
