Derick Dermatology - Elgin

My experience at Derick Dermatology was as pleasant as a medical procedure can be. Both Karlena and Dr. Campbell were professional and compassionate. They both explained everything they were going to do and what I should expect. The procedure was over in minutes with, next to no discomfort. Thanks for a good job, ladies!

I was diagnosed with skin cancer in June of this year, a scary proposition to be sure. I made a appointment at the Naperville facility and Abby the clinician, excised it and it was determined to be cancer. I was then told my options, Mohs Surgery, or a newer SRT radiation treatment, I asked about both and decided on the SRT treatment as the cancer was on my face ( didn't want any scaring or disfigurement) and met then with Dr Campbell, very professional and very knowledgable about the treatment and stated that most people chose that type of treatment on high visibility areas.Then I was then introduced to the real"star of the show" Maggie Vant, the person whom actually administered the treatment, she was the most kind, sympathetic, thoughtful, caring person I have ever met. She guided me through the entire process explaining in detail what would happen every step of the way. I've working in leadership in the client services area and it's extremely rare to find someone that is this caring and compassionate, she is a RARE GEM!!!! As of today i'm cancer free due to the hard work of both ladies, pls make sure that BOTH get to see this review.

If I could leave 0 stars I would! Went in for my daughter’s eczema and mentioned a wart on her knee. They prescribed a very expensive cream with little results, but the worst part of the experience was the wart removal. The "Dr." had an instrument that looked like a cigar cutter and proceeded to cut the wart out. My daughter winced in pain, but the ultimate pain was the scar that roughly 10 times the size as the wart that was removed! After that nightmare, we took all our daughters to the Dermatology Specialists of Illinois In Algonquin. They are fantastic….10/10!!!

Everyone is very friendly and helpful here. Office atmosphere when you walk in is welcoming and comfortable. I like that I get the same Dr so my history is known was previous visits.

Derrick dermatology was easy to get an appointment, easy check in, good service all around. I felt comfortable during the exam and Lucy explained each step. Results were available within a week.
