I left this appointment feeling pretty disappointed and honestly a little misled. I scheduled a regular cleaning, and the front desk/office manager mentioned a fluoride irrigation treatment. I assumed it was part of the cleaning and covered by insurance — no one told me it was an extra add-on or something I’d be paying out of pocket for. If that had been explained clearly, I would’ve made my own decision. After the visit I ended up being charged, and it confused me because cleanings are usually covered. I also asked for an itemized receipt, and the front desk/office manager said she would email it to me, but I never got anything. That just made the whole thing feel worse. I work in healthcare, so clear communication matters to me. The clinical staff were actually nice — the hygienist was great, the X-ray tech was kind, and the assistant who put the bib on me was pleasant. My issue is more with the front desk/office manager communication and the way the dentist explained things. I also had an unpleasant scheduling call beforehand that now makes more sense This experience made me appreciate my previous dentist’s office, where everything was always explained upfront. I’m writing this so other people know what to expect and so I can share my honest experience. I wish I had read the reviews more closely instead of choosing a place that was just close to home.

I loved it here, the doc was sweet and patient with my dental anxiety. I forgot her name, but she has big eyes and long lashes but was very gentle as i have an extremely low pain tolerance. I remember i left shocked that my mouth wasn’t in pain immediately after. Truly an angel’s touch.

Dr. Poneh is amazing. She made a crown for a cracked tooth and replaced another crown that needed to be replaced. She was very friendly and the quality of work is fantastic. Also Maria at the front desk is very friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Amir Dean is the best dentist I’ve ever had. He is a professional, caring, and comforting person whose work is precise, delicate, and necessary. His only downsides are that his arms will make you salivate more than normal and his taste in music could be just a tick better.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding a recent interaction with one of your staff members, Mary, during a telephone call today, Wednesday, June 11, 2025. I contacted your office to schedule an appointment and inquire about the services covered by my insurance plan. I asked Mary if she could contact the insurance company on my behalf to gather this information. However, Mary informed me that she was unable to assist me at that time due to a lack of time. I found this response to be highly unprofessional and detrimental to the reputation of your business. It is my expectation that staff members would be willing and able to provide such assistance to prospective clients. I hope you will address this matter appropriately.

The Team at Sunset Plaza Dental is wonderful. Maria is so helpful explaining everything with paperwork, navigating Insurance, Kenny, is also awesome with assisting the procedures, and Dr. Dean is probably the best Dentist Ive been to in a very long time. They’re Great!

I’ve been a patient here for 5 years. Very nice & professional culture with the dentists & hygienists. Well kept environment and front office is very friendly, especially Maria. Using their website to schedule is super easy and they call back to confirm to your schedule.
