Gentle Dental Washington

I had a horrible experience with the wood village gental dental. The young girls at the front desk the Dr's the entire experience. So I went to Washington st gental dental. When I walked in multiple ladies greeted me everyone was very polite friendly and professional even though they all were busy working. I had my 2nd visit recently and it went well also. I got to see the Dr this time. he was young but professional and it felt like he actually cared and wanted to help me. I will be getting my wisdom teeth extracted and will continue to come here for my dentist needs. The only reason I am giving 4 not 5 stars is because the first time I went. There was a homeless drug addict with a straw tin foil and a lighter flailing out 3 ft from the entrance. These politicians in Oregon do not do anything but buy themselves million dollar homes. So I don't blame gental dental but as a business you cannot have this. If my son was with me It would have been a even more serious issue.

Staff was extremely friendly. Scheduled me quickly. And I didn't have to wait once my appointment time came up.They were ready and got right to it. They also give you a good faith estimate. So there's no surprise pricing.

So far I have to give this place 5 stars. After worried I had mouth cancer and got the good news that I didn't I was much relieved. I also got more done then the visit had scheduled so happy also for that. So far nothing but great experience. Also was able to make a golf trip still with a friend so was in and out in a timely manner.

Had my first dental appt. cancelled on me the MORNING of, and then given poor excuses as to why it happened, basically blaming lack of staff which was a foreseeable issue that could have been communicated to me before the day of my appt. My re-scheduled appt. was for a MONTH after that one (thankfully it wasn't an emergency), and on the day of, given the notice via phone that I'll be a mere 15 min. late because of heavy traffic, I was rudely dismissed by the receptionist and was basically told not to bother showing up. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend. Take your business elsewhere, maybe a clinic that actually cares for its patients.

I had a peaceful painless visit today for two fillings. Roberto and Dr. Brink are an exceptional Dental Health Care Team. They answered my questions and taught me wha I needed to know. They provide a safe environment. Sarah at the front desk is a gracious, patient and informative resource for Gentle Dental. She guided me through my plan of care and helped me save money.

I just wanted to make a note to prospective patients that I've had great care here for over a year and plan to continue with cleanings. However, the doctor who will be cutting into your head and be responsible for fixing and or killing you, changes constantly. This can be a problem when they mix up your file and try to place a filling in a tooth the previous doc just filled, as was my most recent experience. This falls into the realm of horror stories like waking up with your good leg amputated. This can be a very big problem for everyone involved. Short of venting on every detail, I found my surprise new attending doc to be too fresh for my blood, pun intended. He and his assistant fumbled around not finding the right injection, settling on another. He wore his winter coat while administering it (infection risk). This display indeed culminated in the very big, real problem of planing to work on the wrong tooth. Luckily, I had my wits about me and trusted my gut to clarify double and triple time, and refused when he wanted to continue with more injections in another spot on the correct area. Imagine if I were under anesthesia or less informed, or less assertive? In the best of circumstances, this is a reminder to be your own best advocate. Unfortunately, it saved me during the worst of circumstances. I want to remind the patient, this can happen, and it happened here.

I went to this office multiple times for appointments, and Dr. Douglas and his assistants are phenomenal. I can’t say the same thing about the front desk and scheduling staff. I scheduled an appointment, and the day before the appointment they cancelled my appointment, stating that they scheduled the wrong appointment. After waiting for an appointment for over a month, that’s unacceptable, and this isn’t the only time that they did this to me.
