Dr Smith and his staff are ALL top notch in their field. Our families dentist retired and Dr Smith was recommended by him. We have all had great service so far. We have been going to Dr Smith and his team for a few years now and we would definitely recommend him. He and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and they go above and beyond to take care of us. Thank you Dr Smith and Team for all of your hard work and dedication to your patients!!
Dr. Smith is very dishonest and provides substandard dental care. He performed a root canal on the wrong tooth and I had to see a specialist to have the proper procedure performed. Dr. Harris stated he sees a lot of Dr. Smith's unhappy patients. The area where he attempted a root canal continued to have extensive bleeding problems and pain. The bridgework caused bleeding and broke within a month which had to be replaced as well. Dr. Smith refused to take responsibility for his incompetence. Beware of his recommendations for extensive dental work. I reported him to the Heath Department and received a letter from them stating he was cited for safety issues. Please beware of this dentist. The only positive thing about going to see this dentist was his pleasant staff. He solicits positive reviews during your first visit. I only wish I had been informed about this dentist reputation before I spent 5500.00.
I went to Dr. Smith's office back in 2013 for a Groupon I purchased for a $50 cleaning. They had a very nice office and very friendly staff. However, during the cleaning, they started to tell me I had 6 cavities that need to be taken care of relatively soon. I told them that I had no pain or discomfort but they kept pointing to the X-rays saying the cavities were there. After the cleaning, they took me to their finance office to talk about payment options. I wanted a second option so I told them I wanted to think about it. A few months went by and I experienced no tooth pain or signs of cavities. I went to a different office for my next cleaning and told them what Dr. Smith's office told me. They looked at me like I was crazy and said I had no signs of cavities. It has been almost 5 years since but I finally found the "proposed treatment plan" they gave me. They wanted to charge me $1,545 for dental work that was not needed. Still blows my mind. I would not recommend Dr. Smith's office.
My husband and I have received dental care from Dr. Michael Smith, DDS over the past year. We always have positive visits. The high level of professionalism Dr. Smith and his office staff exude is a welcoming plus. In regards to the actual dental care, his team is informative, up to date with latest practice guidelines and very thorough with cleaning and special dental procedures. They are in constant communication with one another and their clients. This practice is highly recommended.
I saw Dr. Smith a few years ago for a visit before having to move to AK. This was a military move, and I needed a clean bill of dental health in order to have the go-ahead to move (nothing excessive could be on my health record). Dr. Smith told me I needed 5-10 crowns on various teeth, multiple cavities filled, and a root canal, etc. I was horrified. I almost started crying in the office. This was going to be about $7000+, total. He knew it would be a one time visit, and I needed to have his signature stating my dental record was OK, and I was good to go. I took my records, and the recommendations he gave me and bought a plane ticket to go to my home town dentist. Guess what I actually needed done. ONE cavity needed filling, one. Not $7000 worth of work. Avoid this dentist at all costs. I've recently been to a dentist where I live now, still no sign of needing crowns or the root canal.
Last winter, I visited this office for a cleaning. Upon examination, the doctor told me I had six cavities, needed three crowns, and recommended a complete rebuild of a bridge at a cost of around $7000. After visiting another dentist, as well as getting a third consultation, the other dentists agreed that I had no cavities whatsoever, required no crowns whatsoever, that my bridge was completely intact and needed no work whatsoever, and I only needed two small fillings. Basically, the other dentists agreed that this Germantown dentist's recommendations were completely false and unnecessary. Be verycareful of any recommendations this dental office makes.
Went to get tooth pulled he drilled and drilled. I called a few days later because I had pieces of tooth sticking out from gum. Went in they told me it was pieces of my gum. I was pulling out pieces of what looked like tooth weeks later. I still have a piece sticking out of my gum. They charged 500 dollars even with their insurance. I went to another dentist pulled 2 teeth no drilling no shards left behind and cost 100 dollars. Teeth needed to be pulled due to an accident. Not recommended.
