This office is a scam! I went in for a cleaning…, they charges my insurance for veneers. I have never even had a cavity in my life! My teeth are naturally perfect. Now I’m getting calls stating I owe thousand of dollars. Last time I went to this office was in 2024 and I just started getting these calls Jan 16th 2026! I definitely will be calling the board of dentistry and be taking legal action. They fraudulently charged my insurance and now took my information to collections which is crazy! I too am a health care professional (doctor) and I would never leave a bill unpaid for service rendered… however this was a fraudulent act. I will be perusing legal action and calling the board!
After calling nearly a dozen dentist I finally found a dental office with their own lab. I lost a small tooth in lower jaw which left an unsightly gap in my lower front teeth. Dr. Orcutt was amazing. She understood my situation and set about using this amazing computer imaging of my entire mouth from which my "flipper" would be made. Called a flipper as you can just flip it in & out. Received it yesterday. Perfect fit! Thanks Dr. Orcutt & Dr. Padillo for this great dental center.
I am deeply disappointed in my experience with Dental Designs of Fort Myers and feel compelled to share what has happened. Back in March, my dentist found what he believed could be a cancerous growth in my gums and referred me for urgent removal by an oral surgeon. In April Dr. Padilla took MRIs, agreed that it should be removed and requested that I get a referral from my primary for the surgery. Since then, I have spent almost six months providing every document they told me was needed — faxes, emails, phone calls — only to be told on 9/30 when the final document was received by then that the doctor has now decided to stop working with Medicare altogether. This is after months of delays, non-responses, and lack of urgency despite the seriousness of my case; this may be cancer. Below is a record of my outreach that has gone unanswered or unresolved: 9/30 – Jasmine told me that after receiving the documents, the doctor decided not to work with Medicare. 9/30 – Called and spoke with Catarina; was told they were at lunch. 9/26 – Sent email with consult (previously faxed twice); no response. 9/11 – Received call that no fax was received; re-sent and called to follow up. 9/2 – Multiple calls, voicemail, and fax from UPENN. No reply. 8/29–8/20 – Multiple emails and calls requesting NPI info. Finally received email on 9/2. 7/3–6/5 – Emails with x-rays and multiple calls logged. April – Original dental appointment and referral due to concern for cancer. I'm sure they will dispute this review but I have all the phone records and emails to back it up. Despite all of this, no treatment has occurred and I just wasted and was delayed 6 months of time I could have gone elsewhere. At this point, I plan to file formal complaints with the Florida Board of Dentistry, the Florida Department of Health / Medical Quality Assurance, the state insurance regulator, and the Better Business Bureau. I am documenting this here because no patient should face such disregard when dealing with something as serious as a possible cancer diagnosis. If you have a serious issue I beg of you to look elsewhere for help. I'm hoping by sharing my experience I can prevent them from doing this to someone else and if this does turn out to be cancer will be looking at my litigation options. Beware of this practice.
Dr Orcutt is amazing! I trust her to take care of my teeth! I also love her Assistant Kaylee! They work very well together. My crown was done in one day and I have had no problems with it.
