I am pregnant with my first child. At the 12 week appointment it is offered to do the ultrasound or NIPT. I called HP customer service to find out the cost of each service. The customer service employee informed me that the NIPT would cost $250 while the ultra sound was cost $350. She also proceeded to say that the NIPT is a more informative test and would be the one she would recommended especially due to it costing less. We proceeded with the NIPT and then received a bill for $750. I confronted HP insurance about the discrepancy in the estimated cost and the actual cost and was told there was nothing that could be done. I am now stuck with an additional $500 bill. I would have proceeded with the ultrasound option if I would have known the cost difference. Never trust what a customer service member staff member says over the phone. Always require documentation to back up your claim. My mistake trusting that HP was an honest insurance. Never trust HP insurance.
Although the staff appeared friendly on the surface, the experience itself was anything but. I went in for an ultrasound—something completely new and unfamiliar to me—and instead of being treated with patience and care, I was rushed through like a number on a checklist. The doctor spent less than a minute in the room, asked if I had any questions while already halfway out the door, and left before I could even begin to ask. The ultrasound tech followed the same pattern, clearly more concerned with moving on to the next patient than making sure I understood what was happening. For an appointment that was both costly and significant, the lack of professionalism was glaring. I walked away with unanswered questions, a lighter wallet, and the clear impression that my comfort and care were never the priority. I would strongly caution others against going here and will not return.
The most awful experience with this clinic. I put in a complaint regarding an ultrasound and blood work that I got done in November. I received a call around Christmas saying I would be getting a call back from a supervisor. It has been four months since this time period with multiple times of them calling to get payment for the services done. I said I would like a call from the supervisor before paying this. I still have yet to receive one. This clinic felt very financial based - get the patients in and out to make the most money. Do not go here.
Hello all, my name is Cali. I just had an ultrasound appointment today. I am a first time mom. I had my first OB appointment yesterday, where they did labs and a bedside ultrasound. My HCG levels came back higher than expected according to the looks of my uterus. The bedside ultrasound put me at about five weeks along. My HCG levels came back 14,140 putting me at around 6-7 weeks. My midwife suggest I go in to get my first trimester ultrasound due to my HCG levels. The technician that’s did my ultrasound was fantastic, no complaints there. However Tessie Barrett was the MD that was called into the room to go over my results and "answer my questions" regarding my ultrasound. Unfortunately, she informed me that I am either very early still or my baby has stopped growing. She was extremely insensitive when delivering this news. She seemed as if she had better places to be. When asking further questions she was short and lacked empathy. I had expressed my concern with this news I received and asked if she had seen this a lot with other patients. She stated in a snarky tone "well I don’t know what your definition of a lot is". My mother attended this appointment with me today. We both work in the medical field because we love helping patients and express our empathy when our patients need it the most. With this being said I have NEVER seen anyone treated the way I was treated today at my very first ultrasound. I will do everything in my power to not see this MD again. I highly recommend asking who you are seeing for your appointment so you do not have to go through the same mistreatment that I went through. Completely disgusted.
I’m sad to have to write this review because I’ve had nothing but great experiences with the physicians and staff of the clinic. However, the billing department is a joke. You have to call or message all of your account information to get an itemized statement, they will double charge you for bills, hang up on you when you have questions and admit on the phone that the payment was applied to the wrong bill… they can throw out as many charges as they want- even if your account says bills are up to date. Funny how my bill was processed… but I got a refund for my copay but then I owe more. They are just as bad as UMR/UHC, NO empathy for patients just greedy lying vultures. Seems like I’m not the only one in the reviews.
AVOID THIS DR AT ALL COSTS. I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Dr. Michael Maurice, and I cannot express how deeply disappointed and frustrated I am by the treatment I received. From the moment he walked in, he exuded an aura of complete indifference, as if my visit was an inconvenience to him. He made no effort to engage with me, let alone acknowledge my pain or concerns. In fact, it seemed like he was annoyed to even be there. Throughout the entire appointment, Dr. Michael completely disregarded everything I had to say. He barely glanced at my ultrasound photos, and when the nurse pointed out certain abnormalities, she had to practically coax him to pay attention. At one point, while I was speaking, he rudely interrupted me to say, "You know, you can sit up, right?"—a comment completely uncalled for in a professional setting. His body language was equally disrespectful; he rolled his eyes multiple times while reviewing my images and nodded in a condescending way- which only added to the growing sense of disdain he seemed to have for me as a patient. At the end of the conversation, when I asked for his recommendation, he threw his hands up, gave me the most disgusted look, and dismissed me with, "That’s between you and your primary!" This was my first appointment for this issue, and instead of offering guidance, he brushed me off in the most unprofessional and condescending manner. He also told me I needed to stop coming in for this issue.. this was my first time! I got a $900 bill for this abysmal treatment, I left feeling belittled, disrespected, and completely unheard. Dr. Michael’s behavior was not only unprofessional but outright rude. If you value being treated with respect and care, I highly recommend avoiding him at all costs. This experience was nothing short of a waste of time and money.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Amy Miller. I was doing research regarding some fertility issues I was having and came across her as a suggested doctor and it was the best decision I've ever made. Throughout my fertility issues she had been so supportive and positive about everything regarding my care, I did end up getting pregnant just by chance and Dr.Miller made me feel seen and heard and she always talked me through everything throughly. Dr. Miller and Dr.Barrett (both at this location) did my c section and they both were so knowledgeable and supportive and truly cared about my recovery and everything leading up to having my son and as someone who was struggling to have a lasting pregnancy I am forever grateful for how this last pregnancy went. Also regarding this location the maternal fetal medicine team was also Amazing Everytime I was seen by them. This location has an all-star team all the way around.
