Customer Reviews
Ama Spa has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 37 reviews on Google
I went to Ama Spa for my first facial. I had a wonderful, relaxing experience. Jordan C. was my esthetician and she did a wonderful job. The atmosphere and music was so calming-I really didn't want it to end. I will be going back for more!
I loved using AMA Spa at The Edwin! I’ve been a loyal customer of Daniela for years. She’s the best in her field, and she’s incredibly knowledgeable about the services and massages she provides.
The massage itself was done well! And the lobby is pretty. Those are really the only two positives, which is why the rating got one star. Here are the negatives: the people weren’t very friendly… at all. Almost acted annoyed that I was there. When I got to the locker room, there were seven dirty glasses / cups on the one small counter top in the entire space. I thought maybe a party had just left and gave them a bit of grace. When I came back after two hours, all the dirty glasses were still there taking up space all over the counter. There was only one clean robe in the locker room when I walked in and a mound of about 15 dirty robes overflowing out of the basket. There were no clean sandals. There were paper towels sprawled on the counter. Very very messy locker room, that was clearly not checked on before I got there or the two hours that I was getting a service done. On top of all of that… My 90 minute massage was $195. I’m OK with that cost. But then when I checked out there was a $43 "service fee" tacked onto my total cost. I asked if that was the tip, given it was about 20% of my service cost. The person checking me out seemed kind of annoyed that I asked and informed me that no, it was not a tip. That service fee is how they pay their massage therapists and a small portion of that also goes to their laundry cost. I said, "so it does go to your therapists?" She said "yes, but it’s not the tip. It’s how we pay them for their job. So you need to leave a tip on top of that." So my service was $195… then I was charged an additional $43… then I left another $40 tip. So my one massage there ended up costing close to $300…. For a messy locker room and relatively rude employees. The only saving grace is that the massage itself was very relaxing. Aside from that, I would absolutely never go back and I would find a different spot when visiting Chattanooga.
They charge me a service fee for the massage and don't give all of my tip to the person that gave me the massage. In my mind, this is theft. I will not do business the place that steals from their employees. If that wasn't enough the place isn't nearly as clean as you would expect it to be.
I booked my husband a 90 minute massage with an add on of hot stones. I researched the Spa some months ago and found a great review on Sadie and decided to request her. My husband stated this massage was the best massage of his life and he has experienced several. He rated her as #1. He stated she was attentive and patient to his relaxation experience. He truly recommends her. Thank you Sadie for making his experience a wonderful one!
Camille gave me the best massage I’ve had in years! It was the perfect amount of pressure and relieved all of my (significant) tension. In the past few months, I’ve had massages at the Four Seasons in Atlanta, the Mandarin Oriental in NYC, and the Montelucia in Phoenix. Those massages didn’t come close to the massage (a 90-minute muscle revive) I got at Ama. I was very pleasantly surprised! Bonus: their spa services are extremely competitively priced. The spa itself was spotlessly clean. Everyone I interacted with was kind and accommodating. The waiting lounge has fun snacks, and I enjoyed a glass of bubbly while I waited for my massage. The only downside is that the spa doesn’t have a sauna, steam room, or jacuzzi.
My massage was generously gifted to me for Mother’s Day by my wonderful oldest daughter. Ama Spa Chattanooga was a wonderful luxurious experience from the reception area to the main event - what a treat! A lovely lady named Kayla performed my massage & she did an incredible job! I noted her selfless effort to serve me - her client - well. The BEST massage I have ever had! Kayla was most certainly kind & professional & experienced. No complaints here — 5 Stars all the way! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
