I found everyone to be warm and welcoming at Smart Hair. It is a good place to go if you need hair advice. They are honest about what will work for your hair and do not judge or try to sell you higher cost treatments (which I appreciated!). Thank you Marianna for the great cut and keratin treatment! Also, Stella did a great job reshaping and dying my eyebrows for only $35. Thank you Stella!

Angela was great and able to accommodate my issues and Marianne fixed my hair perfectly. Thank you ladies for fixing it! I’m really disappointed with my recent experience. My mom and I have been a loyal clients here for years since 2015 — I come for blowouts and even get my curly cuts done at this salon. Because I’ve always trusted their work, I decided to finally dye my hair here for the first time. I explained clearly that I wanted a noticeable golden/copper brown color. Instead, my hair came out almost exactly the same as before — barely any change at all. The stylist didn’t lighten or bleach my virgin black hair, which is required to actually achieve the color I asked for, so the result looks like a normal blowout with a tiny tint. No one even notices that I dyed my hair for over $200 spent... What was even more frustrating is that when we called to ask if they could fix it or add a few highlights to actually give me the color I paid for, the owner, Tanya, refused. I was charged $230 for a result that is basically invisible, and they weren’t willing to make it right despite me being a long-time customer. I’m genuinely sad about this because I trusted this place with my hair for years, but after this experience and the lack of customer service, I won’t be returning.

I was looking for a new hairstylist since my old one left the city, and decided to take a chance on this salon based on all the positive Google reviews. I was very happy with my experience! Angela gave me a great haircut. She has a warm and friendly demeanor and took time to explain what she thought would be the best approach to work w/ my hair type. After cutting my hair she guided me on how to style it at home. I felt I could immediately trust her - she clearly loves her job and wants her customers to be happy. I love my new haircut! Also, the salon was very busy on a weekday afternoon - and I noticed all the women who came in were repeat customers with beautiful shiny hair. I'll be coming back here again.

I came to Smart Hair Studio requesting creative color and Tanya did an amazing job! She presented lots of color options and created more depth to the colors by layering the dye. The atmosphere of the studio is very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Tanya and the team’s services for anyone looking to experiment and have fun with their hair!

Such a great hair salon! I no longer live in Brooklyn, but I still make the trip because my cuts and color at Smart Hair Studio are consistently excellent. Tanya, Angela, Mariana all put great attention into understanding their clients' wishes, and they are very skilled at what they do. So many thanks!

I got one of the best haircuts of my life by Dina on November 19th! She helped bring my vision to life, she listened well and wasn’t nosy about my life. It was so refreshing to go here. I got long layers with sharp face framing pieces. I love it and everyone told me they loved it, too.

I'm beyond disappointed.. I asked for a vibrant low light chocolate color (showed a picture) - And the semi-permanent DIDN'T WORK on my very thin hair. My hair color stayed the same, hair is very dull, we could still see my (very few) white hair (even tho i know we cannot have them all unless we do a full color). So basically I damaged my hair for no results and paid $261 for it (including a small trim of my hair). I was about to cry in the salon. I wish they would have offered a discount when I pointed out it didn't work - because I paid for a service that wasn't delivered. I never go to the salon and I hoped I'd leave it with a new vibrant color and healthy hair. Not dull and damaged. Very sad about it.
