Tao's - Chinatown

Overall I enjoyed my experience shopping here. They have a really great selection of skincare products and I bought a few that I ended up liking…and I would be open to returning in the future. One thing I did notice is I was being followed around the store by an employee who was monitoring me. I believe I was being followed to ensure I wasn’t stealing anything, which i understand many businesses want to avoid theft. It just made me uncomfortable and it was difficult for me to concentrate on my shopping experience. I probably would have bought more items, but due to the constant following I was uncomfortable and felt pressured to cut my shopping experience short so I headed straight to checkout. The employee who was ringing me up was very nice and helpful though, and I have no complaints there. I am now reading other reviews of many individuals who had the same uncomfortable experience shopping at this location, and have even been stopped to check the contents of their personal bags and purses, being falsely accused thievery. Overall, I would be open to returning…I just hope this business can really focus on how to create a positive shopping extort it’s customers 🙂

A nice store that has a good collection of gifts, cosmetic, snacks, and household items. similar to a Walgreens. Lots of stuff, so the aisles can feel a bit crowded. Staff will help if asked.

the snacks here are really great! Ive been visiting taos more often to buy gifts mostly and its just such a great place in general! workers here are very nice and friendly as well. i’ll be coming more often ❤️🥹

Worst customer service ever. I bought a blush from them and got the most insane allergic reaction. While this is not the store fault, when I went the day after with the receipt and the product to return it/exchange it they were not open to work with me to return a product I will not be able to use. Important to highlight that when I bought the product I was not made aware that they have a "no return policy" since they have "testers". Mind you the testers are products that are touched all over, products that no one should be putting on their faces. Buy your products online directly from the brands where at least you will be able to return a product that causes you harm.

Walked in like 3 minutes before closing (i’m so sorry to be this person lol😭) since I urgently needed some products. Girls at the store were so helpful and nice! I’m shopping at Tao’s for years now and it’s always a great experience. Thank you🥹🤍

Elegant skincare and beauty products. Reasonable prices. First-class service. Location is very convenient, just a short walk from the T (Boston subway, Chinatown stop on the orange line). I also enjoyed a delicious mango smoothie at the "More Fun" store beside Tao's. I will definitely go back.

This is the beauty product store of your dreams with a good helping of Kawaii adorable stickers/pens/lunchboxes featuring all your fave Sanrio and Mikazaki characters plus they have some foodstuffs. Tips on purchasing: The beauty products are 100% worth it. They are expensive but they have wonderful brands here. The HelloKitty-type-products can be found cheaper elsewhere, but they’re not outrageous here. You can definitely buy the foodstuffs cheaper at the big Asian grocery store in town. But if you’re looking for a one-stop shop, this really works. They have a gorgeous array of high-quality bath and beauty products. Lotions, bath salts, nail polish… Everything. It is expensive though!
