Our holiday outing had us in this area (Tanaka Farms), and we were quite famished after much walking around in the cold! Glad they stay open later, joined the Yelp waitlist while about 20 minutes away, and still had to wait maybe another 10 more minutes for a table (they are so busy!). Located in a plaza next to other restaurants, but this was the most packed spot from start to finish. Many customers continued to wait just outside the restaurant. Available outdoor seating but it was chilly tonight, so we wanted to dine indoors. Excellent boiled dumplings, Yuzu karaage (fired chicken) had a strong albeit pleasant yuzu taste, was crunchy and still tender inside. Got handroll spicy tuna and yellowtail - also excellent and quite generously filled. Tako wasa also very tender, just the right mix of soy and wasabi. Pork wrapped onigiri (grilled rice balls) with mentai (fish roe) or ume (pickled plum) I have been searching for a Yuzu shio (yuzu salt) ramen and finally found this to have the best flavored ramen. I added wood ear mushrooms and half poached egg to mine. Noodles to broth ratio are just the right amount, i often end up with extra broth at the end, and not enough noodles. The rest of our table each got the Tonkotsu, Spicy Tonkotsu, Shrimp ramen and Torigara Ramen (chicken broth). The pork slices were very tender, with a slight amount of char (no bitter aftertaste) . Each ramen dish had a very different flavorful broth, and you can add on whatever you desire. There is a separate Yakitori ordering menu. We got chicken thigh with onion, chicken skin, cartilage and chicken oyster - each skewer was cooked perfectly , meat was tender, chicken skin had a slightly sweet glaze on it. Attentive and courteous servers. Lots of parking.

the pork belly with plum shiso is memorable! this bite is my favorite bite of yakitori in SoCal. the remainder of the yakitori is mindfully prepared. well seasoned. ramen is not bad and overall a classic chill izakaya atmosphere. not only would I go back, I'm actively looking for excuses to take foodie friends who are into yakitori.

Staff are friendly and very efficient. We were seated right away. Food was delicious and ingredients were fresh. Broth super good on the ramen we had. Plus they are open late. We would be back again to try the other foods on the menu.

This place hit the spot! Excellent ramen and the asparagus wrapped with beef belly went great with it. Total price for the two was only $22 so pretty budget friendly for great food made in front of you in this area.

Great Izakaya off of 55 x 405; Just 2 exits from John Wayne airport! Reserved on Yelp and was seated right away on a busy Friday night. It’s a small restaurant with a nice bar facing the skewer grill area. LOTS of choices from Yakitori (meat skewers), hand rolls, ramen, karaage, crunch roll, elote tempura (!), chicken skin and the list goes on… plus a whole lot of wines and soju available. We ordered a lot of skewers: all well-seasoned/ marinated. We shared a good size spicy tonkotsu ramen, broth is delicious and the kick is just right. They charge extra 75cents for every add-on (corn, mushroom, green onion, etc). Scallop/ salmon hand rolls start at $10 and specialty rolls start at $16. Service is fast and friendly. We’ll be happy to return to try the other items on the menu. More food/travel on IG: @i_therefore_conclude

Not a bad spot for quick bite. The ramen bowls are smaller portions than usual and the yakitori is pretty good.
