Customer Reviews
Barking Mad has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 1428 reviews on Google
Barking Mad, a delightful spot in Gaithersburg, offers a quick and satisfying breakfast experience. I opted for a cappuccino and classic American breakfast, and everything was simply delicious. The spacious and well-maintained ambiance adds to the overall pleasant atmosphere. We’ll definitely be returning to this gem. My suggestion for future visits is to expand their breakfast menu and offer more diverse options beyond the traditional fare.
Very good service, great flavors and specially very reasonable prices. We came for brunch, recommend to make reservations, but there was space. Kids friendly.
My wife and I had a wonderful lunch date at Barking Mad this past Friday. The restaurant has a cozy, inviting vibe and is fronted by a lovely garden that adds a nice touch to the ambiance. While the vegetarian selection is limited, every item we tried was absolutely delicious. We started with the crispy cauliflower with spicy avocado and the creamy artichoke dip—both packed with flavor and beautifully presented. For the main course, we shared the Caprese sandwich with French fries. The sandwich bread was incredibly soft, and the combination of ingredients was fresh and satisfying. The service was excellent. The gentleman attending to us was attentive and checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. They also have a large selection of breakfast items and coffee, which we plan to try soon. Looking forward to going back! Highly recommend Barking Mad for a relaxed and flavorful lunch—especially if you're looking for well-made vegetarian options!
I went back to Barking Mad again with my daughter, and honestly, I wish I could write a review every single time we visit. Watching her enjoy her food makes the experience even better for me. She finished her sliders and even shared my salad, which made the moment feel extra special. Once again, everything was great — from the food to the welcoming atmosphere. Thank you to the team for always creating such a pleasant place to enjoy a meal together. We’ll definitely keep coming back.
Found this little spot on a whim. The food selection is simple and good. The staff is attentive and food came out quick.
My review is two stars because the server was just so cold and just wasn’t around. I get it we got there at 2 and that’s not super convenient but we were sitting for a good 10/15 minutes before he came to take our order. After we’d ordered the food runners and bussers brought our food and cleared our dishes just overall really sweet and efficient. But to get water or a drink we had to catch him as he was passing our table but otherwise wasn’t checking in. Then again without checking in had the payment machine at our table so we can pay. All these things on their own I would be like I get it it’s close to closing time but we weren’t the only ones there and the way he interacted with the other tables was so much more attentive and warm so I don’t exactly understand what the problem was with us. Anyway overall an off putting experience.
Hit and miss. Starting with the hits: very good French toast and, potatoes with the eggs meal. Very good poached eggs and avocado toast. Very good caramel cappuccino. The misses are a few: bad coffee, and served in glass mugs although a proper cup wouldn't salvage it. Eggs not very well cooked. All American breakfast at $18 should include toast, but did not. Cheap. Also, very stingy on the maple syrup for the French toast. Last but not least, the waitress did not bring an itemized bill. Nice place, but overpriced and spotty quality on some items. Would like to try the pizza someday but those look overpriced too. Finally, the online menus should purged because prices are obviously from years ago.
