We LOVE Honey Moon Spirt Lounge! Today we checked out their brunch and had several favorites! First, don’t skip out on the lattes. Not only are the dishes beautiful that your latte comes in, but the quality of the coffee, the frothed milk, and the latte temp were perfect!! I almost ordered another one! For reference we got an Oatmilk latte with vanilla. Second, the biscuits with whipped beetroot butter and local honey is pure comfort and happiness. I would go back just for these and coffee!!! WOW!! My compliments to the chef! Don’t change a thing!! Third, I ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict and my husband ordered the Seoul Chicken and Waffles. The salmon was very tasty and I feel the amount was perfect. The poached egg was cooked to perfection. My only suggestion would be the hollandaise sauce needs more flavor and was a bit too thick, but over all I enjoyed it and would definitely order it again. My husband loved the chicken and waffles. The hint of spiciness from the chicken with the sweet syrup is incredible. Last- GET THEIR DRINKS!!!!! My husband is obsessed with their old fashions! If you haven’t been here, it’s an absolute must. Honey Moon is an Austin gem!!! The vibe is incredible, the ambiance is so mesmerizing and sultry with the tiniest details catching your eye! I find something new to be in awe of every time we stop in!
I was really excited to have brunch at Honey Moon this morning after reading and hearing so many great things about it, but I left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for in Austin — funky, cool, with fun music and a laid-back vibe. The service was attentive and friendly, no complaints there. Where things fell apart was with the food and drinks. We ordered a latte and chai lattes — the flavors were lovely, but both were barely warm. It felt as though the drinks had started out hot, only to be cooled by cold milk instead of properly steamed milk. For food, we ordered the biscuits, parfait, Seoul chicken and waffles, and stuffed French toast. The biscuits and parfait were fine — nothing remarkable, but enjoyable enough. The stuffed French toast, however, felt more like a sandwich made with grocery store loaf bread. While the cheesecake filling was light and pleasantly flavored, the butter-to-syrup ratio was off, and the blueberry compote promised on the menu was not a blueberry compote. The Seoul chicken and waffles were the biggest disappointment. The chicken tasted like overcooked frozen nuggets, topped with a flavorful chili oil–style sauce that, unfortunately, clashed with the delicate beetroot butter. The waffle itself was just okay. There are glimpses of genius here — the beetroot butter and chai flavors — but the fundamentals of each dish fell short, leaving me both disappointed and confused.
We came in on a blind double date night and had a blast! Alexis took care of us and was absolutely phenomenal! Her energy was eclectic, and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. Perfect recommendations for us. You MUST try the fried eggplant it was so airy & like melts in your mouth and the steamed mussels were AMAZING…100% recommend coming here!
Inconsistent dinner menu. I was surprised by the difference in quality between dishes. My partner ordered the pork belly and beans. The pork itself was cooked well, but the oddly sweet BBQ sauce overpowered it all. The beans underneath were chewy, with little flavor, and the portion was surprisingly small. In contrast, my Korean fried chicken was tasty and a much more generous portion over rice. Easily the standout of the night. Dessert (the s’mores) was odd and disappointing. It arrived with a dramatic smoke presentation, but the flavor didn’t deliver. It was mostly hard, cold chocolate and overly smoky whipped cream. Additionally, the cocktail I ordered, despite the creative name, ended up being a fairly standard $18 espresso martini. The atmosphere, however, was lovely.
I enjoy my time here, mainly for the ambiance. I wish they had better vegan options, and I would come here more often. I usually can only eat the salad and fries, both of which aren’t much to ride home about. Super cutie vibe tho! They have djs and burlesque for brunch sometimes which I love.
my boyfriend and i came here for a last minute brunch and we LOVED it!! it’s such a cozy, inviting, and wonderfully decorated atmosphere and perfect for a date! we got the biscuit and gravy and the slapjack i think it was called, and the biscuits and gravy is the best both of us have ever had, the last picture is him scraping the bowl😂 needles to say we loved it and will be coming back for the biscuit and gravy, the flapjack was really good too, everything had amazing flavor and was perfectly cooked!
We had a great time! The place was so cute. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Our food was great. The burger and the steak was so great. We enjoyed the biscuits too!
