Half Price Books

I am a guy who still reads books printed on paper. I listen to CD's, and I still own a DVD collection. Mainly, this is for comfort and convenience. Half Price Books is my go-to place to get all these things. The staff are the BEST. They are kind and they totally believe in their mission. If you cannot find what you are looking for, their stores' individual supplies are linked...so you can get a book - which no local library seems to have - from say Ohio, or Utah, within a week. You can usually find whatever you want...if you are patient. It's very cool! Oh... and not very expensive either. Keep up the good work HPB!

Might be the largest half price books store in the greater Chicago area I've been to and it did not disappoint. Huge selection across all media. Staff was so friendly and asked if I needed help during my browsing. Ended up picking up a couple gems. Something satisfying about browsing a used book store like old mom and pops movie rental stores.

This is the closest Half Price Books to us and the one we frequent the most. The store is always clean and the shelves are always stocked. We visited this location about an hour and a half before they closed and there were only a couple of other customers inside. Normally with each visit we find a couple of books to bring home. It's always fun seeing what rare, signed, or 1st editions they have in front of the store too.

Such a great location I come to the store every time I am visiting! They have so many options from records, VHS, old games, collectibles, toys, and every book that you can imagine! The only thing that I would say is that some of the pricing on the American Girl doll books is off for what they actually sell for.

Today I brought some pre loved items to re love. None of the three employees I interacted with would have any enthusiasm about what the store literally does. The WORST PART: My items were extremely low offer. (I expected that from online reviews and friends telling me their experience.) The items they were offering to purchase were stacked to my left, i started questioning where items were. The clerk eventually showed me a stack of items behind bags and boxes near his computer that were mine. He said "these we would just trash, if you want them back" He had no right to keep items he didn't purchase or to not return my items. Plus, that felt really sneaky. That's awful. Never going back.

It’s a bookstore, record store, movie store, used bookstore, used movie store, used record store, and so much more. I stopped by for one title, but could see myself spending hours in this location. The store is organized neat and clean. Many of the books are preowned, but have been well kept and gently used. The prices are very reasonable. I found the John Steinbeck title that I was looking for, East of Eden, but not in the edition I wanted. However, the price was exceptionally good and I could not pass it up. Recommended.

I have bought and sold items from this store for years, I go around to all the different locations to see what selection they'll have and I've never had a bad experience. The staff has always been very helpful when it comes to finding specific items and ordering things from other stores if necessary. It's a lot better than shopping on Amazon!
