Drybar - Scottsdale Quarter

I have been going here off & on for years. These last few visits have been beyond disappointing. I've called & stated my complaints to someone, but I don't feel like that's enough at this point. My last visit there at Christmas Eve was so terrible that over a month later I can't get it out of my head. I always take myself there on Christmas Eve so I can relax before all the festivities take place. I arrive and the receptionists there are about as rude as they look. Every time I correct how my name is pronounced, they scoff or don't even try to say it correctly. It's not that difficult but moving on. No one asked if I wanted to add anything to my blowout & I never know the time constraints, so I didn't get a scalp massage I wanted because I woke up with a mild headache. I should've booked one, but at the time I didn't want to add one because the prices have gone up so high that it's not even worth it at this point. So, after the shampoo I sit in the chair & I always feel awkward telling the stylist/worker I don't feel like talking. I listen to people complain and talk to me all day, I just want to sit, get my hair done & read my book. But every time I've going this past year, they always look at me like I'm this horrible person for asking for silence. The hair came out fine; I never really have a problem with my hair. But sitting there & watching the receptionist play cards with another customer there, why? It was so weird, watching her go grab cards and teach several people some card game. Went to check out, they still couldn't say my name correctly, scoffed when I corrected them & made this most disgusting face when I wanted to leave a cash tip. I prefer to always leave cash tips & they appeared to be so bothered by it, like why?? The only person I enjoy seeing there and working on my hair is Chelsea (not sure of spelling). Whenever I ask for her, never happens and it took FOREVER to find out her name because they had no idea who I was talking about... the gatekeeping of someone who works there was surreal. I don't know, but dealing with the front desk really detours me from ever being locked into a membership there. The disrespect & callous behavior is so off-putting, it makes me never want to go in often.

I had an amazing experience at the Drybar in Scottsdale! Brooklyn was absolutely incredible—she listened to exactly what I wanted and made my hair look stunning for my event. She was friendly, professional, and truly talented. I walked out feeling so confident and received tons of compliments. Highly recommend booking a blow out with Dry bar.

I was really excited about getting a blowout. It was my first time getting a blowout at dry bar. The front desk lady told me that since I have a lot of hair, it might be a little bit longer timewise. But she never said if I’m going cost me any extra. I really wish she told me that it would be extra. the girl that did my hair I liked her. She was really nice. But the blowout that she gave me wasn’t really a blowout. I did like how it looked but I just wish it looks more like the pictures I showed her. I felt really bad only tipping her five dollars but it was all that I could afford after it having to be about an $89 blowout.she blow dried it and then she curled it, but it didn’t look nothing like the pictures I showed her. I wanted to look Like the VS hair years and years ago, having super voluminous and bouncy. There isn’t a ton of volume and it lasted for two seconds. I’m a college student so I can’t drop almost $100 on getting my hair done when I have a lot more other expenses that I need. I thought it was going to be around $60 plus tip, which I was fine with but $100 is a lot to get it done and then have it fall within two hours. I could’ve done this blowout at home and have it last for days. I wanted to treat myself because I haven’t done anything like this, but I’m not doing it again.

There are better dry bars out there than this one in terms of talented stylists. Location is just convenient for me. What bothers me the most is the extreme push to buy their hair products. Multiple employees advertised their hair products and pushed for me to buy them during the visit. It is exhausting. And makes me dread going there. Please stop being so pushy. Your products aren’t the best and are very expensive for the quality.

Had my hair done by Sydney and she did such a great job! I asked for a classic, layered, voluminous blow out and that’s exactly what she gave me. Will definitely be back!

I've been going to this Dry Bar regularly for over two and a half years and McKenna has consistently done such an awesome job as I grow my hair long enough to donate some day! She is amazing.

One star for cleanliness. But honestly so surprised this place is still even in business. I have given this place about 6 chances and every time it’s a no. This last time I went in, the guy I saw was extremely rough while washing I felt like I was a ragdoll. It was anything but relaxing or pleasant. I asked for super loose beach curls, straight at the ends. When he finished I looked like I had just received a super short tight perm. My hair felt terrible, and looked greasy. I went home and immediately washed and redid my hair. Super Disappointing. I will be using any other dry bar except this one. Also forgot to mention I had requested a scalp massage that was never received. They tried charging for it.
