Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids - Chula Vista - East Lake, CA

Not a great experience at all. We were both very excited for her first haircut. We booked the first haircut package and wasn’t given it. Our stylist was late. She didn’t even introduce herself so idk her name. She wasn’t very friendly with my 2 year old so she wasn’t comfortable. The bags are cute way too short. I showed her two pictures of what I wanted and one picture of what I didn’t want. This is literally what I didn’t want. Plus she sectioned the new bags straight across without even looking that more of her hair naturally falls into her face. So this picture is literally leaving right afterwards and there’s already long hair falling into her bangs. I’m just going to buy scissors and learn how to do it myself. A wasted of $35.

Terrible experience. We specifically requested a scissor cut, but the stylist assigned to my child, Yesenia, insisted on using clippers because it was "faster," disregarding what we asked for. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. The overall attitude from both the stylist and the receptionist was unfriendly, and despite having an appointment, we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing them — even though the salon was empty. It was also $40, for a 5 minute at most "haircut". Stylist is obviously tired of doing this job and doesn’t seem very fond of children. Three weeks later, my child’s hair already looks uneven and still too long, and we need another haircut. I wouldn’t recommend this location. The Point Loma salon, on the other hand, was much more professional, and the stylist there did a great job with my child.

We were visiting (fall break) and needed haircuts. The girls loved their haircuts and styles! They were pampered and left feeling like princesses! Thank you so much!

*I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PERSON!!* Location Otay Ranch! I definitely do not recommend this place. I recently cut my son's hair and this is how it turned out. I am upset and disappointed. (My son was very calm and quiet during his haircut. I was watching him the whole time).

Iv taken my daughter to other places for a cut and never had an experience like this. We went to the location at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista since it’s closer to us. When you walk in, it’s not welcoming at all. Our stylist Yesenia did not introduce herself and seamed annoyed, upset and not friendly at all. Even her coworker had to tell her to "smile". I had originally asked for long layers and a trim on the bangs and blend out her hair. But because she made my daughter so uncomfortable I just told her to do a trim. My daughter gets nervous about cuts and when the lady was telling her to look straight she has holding her head pretty firm and this lady has long nails. At one point my daughter looked like she wanted to cry. Again I know haircuts make my daughter nervous but after reflecting the whole experience I think it was just the stylist attitude. She doesn’t know how to work with kids in my opinion. I’ve Gone to other places for kids cut and normally the stylist are patient and make my daughter comfortable even if she does move. My daughter ends up cooperating. The only reason I paid was because the cut was okay and even. But other than that the customer service is horrible for being a "kids" cut place. The stylist needs to better on her attitude. I get people have bad days but goodness you work with kids. I definitely will not be coming back. I’ll rather make a far drive to where I was going but get way better service.

We consistently get the best service and exactly the haircut we want for my three year old from Wendy. Her patience and skill make getting my son's haircut a breeze. The cute kids chairs, movies and toys also help tremendously. Thank you, Wendy!

The place was great for kids and our stylist Yesenia did a very quick but great job with my daughter. She was patient and resourceful while trying to help my little one stay still (hard to do for a 2 year old) but in the end the result was awesome and now my daughter has her very first haircut. We'll be definitely coming back. * Another plus I appreciated is that all stylists speak both English and Spanish, and my daughter being bilingual as well, it was pretty easy for Yesenia to communicate with her in either language.
