I have been on the hunt for a while for an expert stylist and Gina Lowe is just that!!! She took time before even meeting me to ask what I was looking for. Then when I finally came in for my appointment she again took time to really loom at my hair and my color to get a sense of what I needed. I also didnt mention her delightful humor and warm disposition. She is also special props for being from Mass!!! Love my east coast peeps!!! This is the best cut and color I have had in years. Gina is highly trained and skilled and worked her magic.. She is also bicoasral so get her when she is in town. I felt like the fairy godmother of hair must have told Gina to fix this woman's hair and she did just that!!! The owner of the salon, Angela was also quite warm and welcoming. The last couple of months have been challenging for various reasons and she sprinkled some sunshine on me. Thank you . Love my east coast peeps. See you when you are back in town!

Last month, Bradley Crane gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life. No, really. I'm writing this review today because even after all this time I'm amazed at what he did. I walked in and said, "I'm not going to tell you what I want because I know you'll know what to do with it." And he did. He layered my slightly curly/wavy hair in a way that when it AIR DRIES I look like I put effort in and it looks great every day. That's never happened with my hair before. It always puffs up into a mess when air drying. Somehow, SOMEHOW, he's worked magic. I thought I got lucky for a few days after showering with the new cut, but a month later it still air dries incredibly.

Ellie is great! I've tried a few different places in Oakland, and Ellie has definitely been my favorite. She's also great to talk to. I'm a man with medium-length/short curly hair and I just go in for haircuts.

Why have "Book Online" feature when half the time, you make an appt and show up and the stylists doesn't show up? It happened to me so many times! Happened w Paul at least 10 times. He's always always late, never on time, whwn he shows up he looks high or has hang over, and seriously slow in cutting hair. It's almost as if he needs to justify the $$$$$ or he's got a serious hang over and can't cope. Or maybe he just needs to justify charging top $$$$$ for something that will take 10 minutes! Also happened w the owner too. Just bad bad business.

Ellie has been doing my curly cuts for the past few years. Not only do I have curly hair but I suffer from hair thinning so you can imagine how hard it is to find a hairstylist that you trust. She always takes my concerns into account and makes sure that I walk out feeling more confident than ever! We’ve tried a few styles from long to pixie and every time it comes out better than I could’ve imagined. I truly don’t know what I do with my hair without her

Blew off my wife for her appointment and owner Angela finally got back to me to deflect blame and not apologize for anything. Went elsewhere, plenty of businesses who actually respect people’s time and don’t blow people off unapologetically. Must be nice to have so many clients you can be that arrogant and socially oblivious. Wife tried to reach out numerous times after and never called back, don’t manage main phone number or email actively. Here’s a piece of advice, don’t blow people off and then call back a week later without an apology. Total bullshit.

I have been seeing a wonderful hair stylist at Spank’s for about 10 years. Her name is Veronica, but she is no longer working. I took a chance with another stylist, Ellie, today. I am beyond disappointed. I needed a hair cut, roots and highlights after a year of Covid. I don’t know what she didn’t understand, but I left with almost red hair, no highlights and not a professional haircut. I was planning to spend at least $300. Fortunately Ellie had the decency not to charge me. I left with a foil of bleach on my hair per my request. That was the only part that came close to the highlights I originally requested. I wasted three hours there and my hair is a hot mess.
