This was the best experience I've ever had cutting my hair. I had long hair and I wanted a change, I brought some ideas and DJ listened to them and provide an incredible advice and recommendations. It was amazing how DJ understood my hair better than me. And I couldn't be happier with the result! DJ is a genius!

DJ is a hair artist. I’ve been looking for a new hairdresser for such a long time. DJ took the time to listen to my preferences, concerns, and lifestyle and gave me the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. I’ll be coming back and I hope he never leaves.

Not sure how I missed the submit button! I love love love my hair, and never had so many compliments. The highlights look so natural. Best in the Bay hands down. Professional coloring techniques, great styling, awesome personality. What else can you ask from your personal stylist? DJ has been in the industry for ages. For 10yrs he is my one and only personal stylist. DJ always satisfy my needs and up to the current trend from natural hair styling to coloring. He has ​been busy from learning and working with many artists and customers around the world but Dj always make my time at Atelier de Jarit worth it. Thank you DJ for creating the beautiful and awsome works. I'm looking forward to see you soon.

I moved to Oakland recently from across the country and was a bit nervous about being able to find a good hair stylist. When I got my hair cut by DJ for the first time, I decided I didn’t want anyone else to cut my hair for as long as I live here hahahaha it came out SO good. I typically wear my hair extremely long, so when I asked him to chop it all off I was very apprehensive. Turns out I didn’t need to. He is very detailed and methodical and he knows his stuff. A couple of months after my haircut, I got it highlighted by DJ as well and I LOOOOVE how it came out. I’ve never highlighted my hair before and I trust DJ to color it the way he sees best. Definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking for a fresh haircut and highlights

I have been overdue for a haircut and was recommended here by a friend of a friend. DJ did a fantastic job. I explained what I wanted (maintain my length as much as possible, refresh my layers), showed him some pictures, and he went to work. He dry cut my hair first and then refined the cut after washing. He washed my hair thoroughly and gave a nice brief scalp and neck massage. I LOVED that he did that; at my last salon, the stylist spent maybe 10 seconds barely washing my hair. Pretty sure they didn't wash long enough to make it suds up, much less wash the oil and dry shampoo out of my roots. So I definitely appreciated DJ's thoroughness here. He went on to dry and style. The entire experience was great and I loved that he took his time to do an excellent job. If I had one minor comment, he used a little too much product during styling. Not a huge deal though. The salon was lovely, with high ceilings lots of natural light. The shampoo bowl was very comfortable to lay back in. I will definitely be back for my coloring needs!

I cannot say enough about how incredible DJ is. Truly an artist! I came in this time with excessively long, dry, brittle hair that desperately needed some TLC. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair to be honest because he is so thorough and has such great attention to detail. Not only did I leave feeling like a new woman with killer hair but also left feeling so relaxed from his beautiful calming space! I've gotten balayage highlights from him before, pre-pandemic, and will 10/10 be going back for more!
