Customer Reviews
Supermercado Nuestra Familia has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on over 1861 reviews on Google
it is not a bad store. I was there few times. Some products are very specific and you will have a hard time time to find it somewhere else. The major surprise is that everything is MORE expensive that in other grocery stores, it also can be more clean. Eggs on the shelf were 2 days after expiration date, it is not good. Some meat products you do not need to thing where to buy, you just go there.
I feel bad leaving a negative review, but unfortunately there was a lot wrong. I was excited when I saw there's a Hispanic grocery store near me, since I'm Mexican and I live in a very white area, so it can be hard to find certain products. first thing, their produce looked terrible. they were all wilted, old, and mushy. second, I was looking for some pan dulce and all I found were some tres leches cakes, and donuts. I go to the dairy section and I notice their dairy products are more expensive than at other stores. not terrible, it would've been fine, but.. a lot of their stuff was almost expired. I'm talking in a few DAYS almost expired. no sale tags, just overpriced, almost expired milks and yogurts. their gallons of milk are about $3.50, for reference. I go to their freezer section, and I notice a lot of condensation and fog on the freezer doors. didn't think anything of it, until I saw all bags and containers that were see thru, had SO much freezer burn it was covering whatever food is in there. are the freezers not cold enough?? are the products old? it was odd. (I also noticed several freezer doors were left open and empty, maybe to clean, but the freezers are all connected so the entire isle of freezers were probably not as cold as they should be, and there were still frozen products in some areas in that same isle. yikes). I wanted to get some frozen fruit and those bags aren't see thru, so I just got a bag and hoped for the best. (it wasn't in the isle with the open and empty doors). anyways, when I got home and opened it, it was a solid block of pure freezer burn. now I worry for the frozen tilapia I got for dinner this week lol. as for their open fridges where they keep their little pudding cups and flans, almost all of the containers were very puffed up, hard, and had a lot of condensation inside. VERY concerning. I saw they were made just yesterday and their sell by date was later this week, so I just picked one that wasn't puffed up. by the time I got home, it became puffed up and hard??? I set it down and it WOBBLED on my counter. I asked my partner for his opinion and he got wide eyed and immediately said to toss it. so... unfortunately, this store is.. not great. I'm very disappointed.
Their fresh tortillas are really good. But their pan dulce is overpriced at $1.49 each (also price not marked, so you dont know until checkout). I'll keep coming for the tortillas and might try their tres leches cake, but will buy pan dulce somewhere else.
I went and ordered chicken 16 pieces. It seems they give u what ever they feel like. must not have rules at this location waste of time money and gas I received 2 legs and the rest was wings and thighs didn't want 8 thighs when I came in but I should have assumed the service was bad when I seen how poorly the displays were set up. Don't recommend this place to any one ever.
I go to the store mostly because South Omaha desperately needs a new grocery store and this is the only one in the area. It has some great qualities, I love their homemade tortillas, they have a lot of produce you can't get anywhere else, a great selection of both Hispanic and American foods and it's written on the aisle signs in both, they sell pinatas and they just opened self-checkout lanes that they desperately needed. My main issue with the store is cleanliness and customer service. For months you could smell dead mice right as you walked in the entrance. And the meat department offers a great selection but oftentimes the plastic they sit on is not clean. It was so gross the last time I went in I took pictures to send to the manager. As far as customer service goes as an example I had a money order I purchased there stolen and cashed. On the western union website they instruct you to let the store know bc the only place that can cash it is the store. The girl at customer service actually told me it was store policy if someone comes to cash it they can't keep their information to give to the police since it would be invading THEIR privacy. Apparently a person who would cash a money order they know they didnt purchase is protected instead of the customer that actually spends their money there. So long review summed up, great tortillas but not worth the risk of getting sick from dead mice in the store, dirty meat dept. , and TERRIBLE customer service. I will never shop here again!!
Whenever I go to the store is for specific things in the kitchen. but this is the problem, this is either the 3rd or the 2nd time this week including the other one I went to the store but all of those time I’ve came in and the only things that were available were Rice, Beans, and sometimes chicken. I know this isn’t something that I should be reviewing about because this a awesome store but I felt like I had to just so they could know so they could do a good and better job in the feature, no hate.
This store has a little bit of everything for a latin dish. Not to mention, I have searched high and low since moving here from fl for my favorite hot sauce ( Texas Pete) and EUREKA!!! they had it.
