This place is cool. I stopped in and purchased about $100 worth of cds over the course of 2 hours of looking through the collections. The prices on new and used cds are great. They had some rare stuff you don't see in your average music store and it was pretty well organized. I will be back again with a bigger budget and hopefully more time.

Never got a bad used record from them. Used selection can wonderfully surprise you. the used records are VG+ condition and prices are reasonable. Friendly staff Professional. It is very warm in the store year round. Be aware what you already own before purchase. if you return a used, you'll have to sell it back instead of receiving a refund.

Very cool shop! Helpful employees and a great variety of vinyl, CDs, movies, and collectibles. They also have a reward program that can save you some money. 5/5 would recommend to people just getting into physical media or people visiting from out of town!

Homer's is without a doubt my favorite place in the world to go, I'm like a kid in a candy store. They have the best new and used selection when it comes to every format of music not to mention they have a huge variety of other things to purchase including posters, movies and toys/collectibles.

Im from LA and this is the closest thing I could find that was like Amoeba. Was able to find most of the things I wanted and was looking for. Only thing was they did not have any band t-shirts which I really wanted! They had alternativas Nebraska inspired Ramones, Joy division and Nirvana shirts. If I lived closer id come every week to see what's new. Def reccomend if you are a record nerd.

If you’re in the downtown Omaha area I would recommend going to check out Homer’s record store. It has the largest Midwest selection of vinyl and CDs. Lots of Musical related options to check out.

VERY disappointed with Homer's after being a customer there for many, many years. I recently tried to attend the Deftones Private Music release party, and I showed up a couple hours early out of excitement because Homers was finally hosting a release party that I could get to amidst my usually-crazy schedule. I got there little bit before 3:00 p.m. (the party was supposed to be at 5:00 p.m.) and immediately asked a question regarding it. I asked them if the store closes and then re opens, or if they keep it open for the free stuff that they would be handing out. A friend or customer talking with an employee at the counter jokingly made a reply to my question, and then said he didn't work there so I asked the guy behind the counter, he quietly replied saying that the doors would just stay open, and the woman beside him working behind the counter said they don't know if the merch shipment would even be in today, but they could write down my name for the free merch that was supposed to be handed out that day because the FedEx truck with the merch hadn't showed up at all. I said okay, thank you, and then bought my copy of the Deftones album soon after. I had called to get one put on hold for me, which they did, but it was a quick call and they only took my first name. I was asked for my last name when picking up my cd, and said "he didn't ask me on the phone" to which I got no reply, they just found the record rang it up, and gave me a total. Cool. I paid for it and went to look around for a long while, at this point it had been about an hour and a half to two hours that I had been looking through most of the cds in the store when one of the employees behind the counter told me the event was canceled. I had checked on instagram after to see that there was a post around 3:45 p.m. that the event was canceled. It was about 4:30 when I was given this news, and I was actually in the store. I was definitely upset about the event being canceled, because I had been excited for it since the initial Instsgram post about it, and I wanted to show up early for a good chance at the raffles (I was told by Homer's staff via Insta that half the time not many people show up) and for the free merch, I had even waited to listen to the album that day since I had never gone to a release party and thought it would be special to hear it for the first time at what was supposed to be my first ever album release event. Knowing that I was upset, I walked around for a little bit and just kinda considered buying a few albums, but I knew I wanted to still have my name put down for the merch as was promised soon after I walked in, I didn't want to take it out on the employees so I remained calm once I flagged one of them down while they were putting away some cds. I asked if they could still put my name down as promised, as I had spent a lot of my day off already trying to attend the event/be early and look around at the store, and my work schedule would definitely not allow me to show up again, but I was told "no, because if we do that for everyone then we have nothing to give out at the make-up event, which is really the only reason why people would show up anyway for it" so I replied "okay, thank you". I was upset that they immediately went back on what they said, as they seemed more than willing to hold back some of the free merch for me when I walked in. I eventually flagged down another employee. I found the employee thst specifically promised the merch and asked the same question, and explained my work situation. I was told no a second time, I was pretty upset at that point but I kept very calm and just said "okay, thank you" again and left. Not giving them anymore of my $ also because of being treated poorly any time I talk to an employee here for over 5 years that I have been shopping here. Edit: they did let me have a poster, laminate/lanyard and door hanger before they had the re-scheduled listening party. When I went to get them, the employees were short with me and still initially unaware of the situation, but they gave me the stuff.
