Stew Leonard's

We shopped at the Norwalk, CT store a few days before Christmas. We bought our Christmas tree there: a nice 5'-6' tree (fraser fir) at a reasonable price ($64.99). The atmosphere inside the store was very nice and the store was stacked with goodies as usual. Freshness and very good quality are the main characteristics of all their products. We tried the lobster roll, which we ate at home and found delicious; we recommend it to anyone who likes the famous delicacy.

I love this grocery store. They make so many delicious products on site and there is a wide variety of produce, meat and dairy. They also sell home made soft serve ice cream thats very creamy and tasty. The prices are fair and the over all atmosphere is fun because of the design of the store. Barn animals pop out of the ceiling and walls at different intervals.

This store is absolutely fantastic! My family and I are coming from across the country while visiting we came across it and I've truly never seen anything like it, an absolutely amazing dairy and produce selection to the environment as well as just general choices it goes above and beyond and is high quality all around, it's something I will definitely visit again!

It’s the largest diary store in the world. Not only that it’s a large grocery store also. You can buy everything from vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, cheese and much more. Quality is very high. It sells cooked foods too with wide range of options.

I have been going there ever since the early 1980's when its been about half of the present size. A fun experience, clean, bright, with generally friendly staff and well presented merchandise. So why only 3 stars? Two reasons: secondary reason is that the quality of the food is very good, but not great. Other local places at similar or even lower price points have better quality foodstuffs (I am referring primarily to meats, but this concerns produce as well). Primary reason: prices. Stew Leonard's is no longer affordable for most Americans. I don't know if it is the overhead, greed, or a general strategy, but the place used to be known for very good quality at reasonable prices. The "reasonable prices" part no longer applies.

Today’s visit was a trip down memory lane. Whole Foods has nothing on this shopping experience! I grew up in nearby Stamford and a visit to SL was a dream. We got to see animals which was such a treat. And, the hits kept coming with fresh popcorn, candied apples, nuts, and soft serve ice cream. The experience was a win win. My parents got to shop for wholesome food and we got healthy treats and enjoyed visiting with the animals. I’m glad to see SL still going strong after all these years by providing fresh high quality items at good prices.
