The Walgreens pharmacy off Johnnie Dodds blvd in Mt Pleasant is wonderful! Each time I've gone in there, it's been a good experience. Everyone is nice to interact with and willing to help. My main reason for this review is to share my experience from the pharmacy. I brought my son to get his flu shot and hope it would be as quick as possible because who wants to wait a long time with an anxious kid? 😳 It was looking good until they couldn't get my insurance card to go through. But she continued to try different ways, even calling the help desk. After about an hour, it finally worked! Bless their hearts... They didn't give up! Throughout that wait, they kept updating me and thanking me for my patience. The same one that went through that process, also administered his shot. She was wonderful! I wish I had her name! She did so well, he didn't realize it was already done! Thank you! I hope this helps with anyone searching for good service!
Pharmacy process to receive medication is awful. I received a prescription for erythromycin eye ointment to treat my daughter’s pink eye. It required no mixing or preparation, as simple as orders come. I was told by a technician at 9:30 the order was received but would take an hour to prepare. I waited and returned two hours later. It was still not ready. I waited another hour for the mediation to be filled and given to me while waiting with a fussy daughter. I would send my scripts elsewhere in the future.
Worst pharmacy and most downright barbaric pharmacy staff I have ever encountered. Ever. The substitute pharmacist, Benia, who I have suffered through dealing with twice now is far and away the least helpful, morally incompetent person in a professional medical capacity/position I’ve ever in my life had the displeasure of interacting with. Twice now, sadly. Once was more than enough. The first time she lead me on for almost 5 hours (literally), telling me 4x that it would be just another 45 minutes before they were able to fill my rx. I spent my entire afternoon in the parking lot, losing daylight and missing work. I stressed I had a busy day and asked politely from the very beginning if they could please expedite the process. It takes 2-3 minutes to count a bottle of pills (I know firsthand having worked in pharmacies) and there was no line and from what I could tell, seemingly nothing else that pressing going on. I continued to be patient and civil, until finally, as they were closing, she haughtily informed me that I was a day early for my refill, even though they are allowed to fill, by law, up to three days early. Something she could have saved me an entire day by telling me during the initial exchange when they looked at the order/prescriptiom. If this was a new medication, that might have been a reasonable line of refusal, but I’ve been on the same meds for years at this point. For years, I go once a month to pick up my prescriptions. Never request early refills or do anything to raise flags. It’s not rocket science. The worst part was that she seemed to take delight in having wasted my day, smirking while she said it. Disgraceful, to put it mildly. It’s horrifying to consider that she has any remote semblance of control in regards to dispensing vital medication to the public. She appears devoid of any kind of honor or consideration to her duty to provide care to her patients, the public, or working within the medical industry. The second occasion was the same story, except this time she was in her dirty and stained sweats/pajamas. She looked more like a homeless individual than a pharmacist, the point being that she clearly doesn’t value her own lot/postion as a medical professional— ensured to quite literally keeping society going by keeping people healthy and happy. Having someone within my own healthcare program tell me that they wouldn’t fill my RX because I was a day early (yes, just a day people) looking like a vagrant was pretty surreal and viscerally appalling, in my humble opinion and personal experience as the patient. The tech looked up my chart, took their sweet time to address me and verify that they had sufficient inventory of my medication, then finally told me it would be 15-20 minutes. Ok great! That’s kind of how it’s supposed to be. But after a half hour, as I’m wasting away mindlessly in the parking lot, the tech Chari, who is also inept and exudes a general aura that you, the patient, are nothing but a burden to her, called me to inform me that I was again a day early and they wouldn’t fill it. Once again something they should have just told me from the beginning. By far one of the worst, perhaps the worst, medical/patient experiences of my life bar none. You’d have to pay me to go back to that place. A little slice of hell on Earth for sure.
I want to commend the pharmacists and technicians for their hard work. It's clear they are doing their best to provide excellent service. The pharmacy staff consistently demonstrates dedication despite challenging conditions. The recurring employee turnover and inadequate staffing levels have created significant operational issues, which in turn negatively impact customer service. These issues appear to be a consequence of corporate staffing policies that do not adequately support the store's needs. I will not be sending any more prescriptions to Walgreens. I perpetually have issues with my orders no matter which doctor calls it in, or which prescription. The obvious pinch point is the pharmacy itself. I will be moving all of my families prescriptions to Delta pharmacy. Walgreens- Please treat your employees better, they deserve to have decent work conditions and expectations.
This review is directed at the pharmacy portion of Walgreens, not the check out staff, who have been lovely. I have been attempting to get a medication from this Walgreens for OVER A MONTH and every single time I have come here, there has been an excuse for why it is still not ready for pick up. Not only have I not gotten my medication, but the pharmacy staff have been extremely short-tempered and rude when I ask why my medication has not yet been filled. While I understand that the pharmacy is understaffed, a little kindness goes a long way, and unfortunately the pharmacy staff neither cares nor provides any explanation as to why the medication was not filled. If you want to waste your time waiting for a medication that will never be filled and encounter rude and condescending pharmacy staff, then this is the place. Otherwise, avoid filling your medication here at all costs.
I want to give a huge shoutout to the pharmacy staff. I had to switch to CVS when my insurance changed, and I was very unhappy. After multiple problems in the short time I had to use CVS, I decided I would just bite the bullet and pay out of pocket in order to continue using this Walgreens. Well! In the process of transferring my scripts back over, CVS was absolutely horrible, unresponsive, and even lost my prescription in the process. These Walgreens pharmacy employees stepped up, helped me each time I called, and were never rude or impatient with me despite my obvious frustrations (not with them.) It’s clear that team at Walgreens does not get enough support, are understaffed, and overworked, and they STILL go above and beyond to try and help you. Being in the VetMed field, I know that pharmacy work is not easy, and you are constantly being yelled at or belittled by customers when you’re just trying to do your job. These people are awesome and deserve more respect and patience from the public. They’re trying their very best with the limited resources they’ve been given, and I cannot thank them enough for all the time, respect, and care they’ve given me.
As a Door Dasher it is my job to be an extension of a Walgreens pharmacy customer. There for I should not be treated Less Than, today I waited 17 minutes on line to pick up an order Bc the clerk was happy to help everyone else in line ,not once But twice in some case...Having to prepare a customers medication..slowly .. And then when I inquired about the wait time She said ..Oh well you could have gone over there Where there was No one at the other window . Horrible Customer service!!
