reserved 3 rooms. when arriving no water in all three Rooms. changed rooms. walked in there was mouse shit in all 3 rooms covering 90% of floors beds cabinets etc. then we went to another part. it had a entry room. no animal shit noticed. had rooms for three nights reserved. on second night we noticed sewer smell in building. we told manager about it. she was aware of this problem from other also. she stated she will have a person service it. this pretty much ruined or vacation. we told her we were leaving. ask for refund. ha ha she showed no remorse for our stay. so we checked out. a hour down the road my phone shows a charge from there for over $450. I called her she said she didn't no why it was charged. I disputed with bank and there company said it was owed. so if ever going there BEWARE. if you want my number I will gladly give it to you. they should be shut down by the EPA
The positive: the views were great, check-in was easy & friendly. Our room was nice enough, loved the heated bathroom floor! We were warned that if we ran out of water to wait 30 minutes as they were booked solid. We never ran out of water. The common area of the house is beautiful with a lodge feel, but needed a good cleaning. |Now for the negative: the restaurant needs a good deep cleaning and it’s pricey. Yes, there were flies but they had a tack strip to attract . The room didn’t have enough outlets for phone chargers & electronics. The worse was the pack of Husky sled dogs - 48 to be exact! That barked ALL night! We were there 2 nights and barely got any sleep. Upon checkout, I suggested that they tell people when they booked about the dogs. The man told me that they were NOT a resort and a working ranch with horses, cattle and dogs. And that dogs were going to do what dogs do -bark! I would not recommend staying here.
When we checked into our room we immediately realized we'd made a mistake booking our stay here. We could hear the room beside us and above us clear as day, every word of their conversation. Even when they'd take just a step we thought someone was at our door because the creek went throughout the whole cabin. We thought maybe the food would make up for it but the food was about the equivalent to McDonalds if that and most items on the menu weren't available. Over $100 for two meals. We sat waiting and finally had to ask the waiter if we could order and he told us we had to get our own menu's and order up by him. He either stood doing nothing or gossiped with his coworker about how they both hate their job. We tried to get a different cabin available that would hopefully have been more private but they told us we would have to pay full price for the room we were already in as well as full price for the room they said was available. Not in the slightest did they try to help us or ask us how they could help make our stay better. Around 10pm the water turned off so we couldn't get ready for bed. We checked out the next morning, even though we were booked to stay three nights. We'd rather lose $700 than stay there another night, and we're newlyweds. Trash under our bed, cobwebs in the corners, rips in the couch. Service was horrible. Most expensive and horrible trip I've ever been on. The location was beautiful, gorgeous view of the mountains.
Our visit to Heart Six Ranch was by and large a very good one. The room was excellent, almost new in feel. There's no TV, but honestly, who wants one in the vicinity of a national park? With the closeness to Grand Tetons and fair prices, this is a great place to stay. So why the 4 stars instead of 5? There are no restaurants in the area, at all, except for the "cafe" that's on property. This cafe is a huge disappointment. The food is average at best, when they aren't out of almost everything. They make you stand up at the bar to order and the attitude of the staff is abysmal. Do you want some water? No problem...if you purchase a glass or a water bottle to put the water in. Between the lousy attitude of the staff and the overall appearance of the cafe, it's a very negative experience. Oh...did I mention that they AUTOMATICALLY put a 20% tip on the bill? We only made this mistake once and that was it. So overall, Heart Six Ranch is excellent. Just be sure to bring alternative options for food and drinks and stay clear of the cafe.
Overall we would recommend it, if you’re okay with a few caveats. We stayed four nights in October. What we liked: it’s an incredibly good deal for the area. One has to remember that you’re sleeping just outside of the park. It’s in a very convenient location for visiting the Tetons. We also liked the view of the ranch, seeing animals, and our beds were comfy. The room was clean enough for us. The other rooms within national parks we stayed in on the same trip were never cleaner so I’m wondering what standard some people hold the ranch to. I regularly got hot water at the restaurant for free. What could be improved: we didn’t have reliable water the last night from 9pm on. Things can happen and a well can run dry but would have loved a message so we could have planned better. The restaurant prices are insane. It’s pricier than in the park. We avoided eating there and went to other places. There are enough good options around. The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear almost every word from next door. But it was okay for us as our neighbors went to bad at the same time as us haha.
Let’s start with the good: the scenery overlooking Buffalo Valley is stunning, especially at sunset. Check-in was easy enough, although the check-in staff was pretty inhospitable. The cafe was a fun experience although pricey. When taking a shower, the water was COMPLETELY cold 5 minutes into the shower (not enough of a tank to supply the rooms). The walls also seemed super thin as we had a baby crying on one side and could hear entire conversations on the other. The main downfall was being woken up several times in the night from a pack of huskies howling and barking. They were directly across the road and we’re talking a couple dozen at least not just a few farm dogs. When they started barking and howling 4-5 times in the night, it woke everyone up in the room (kids and all). There also was a mouse and I heard it scampering through the room all night (found a tissue nest in the morning). It could be a really cool and unique place, but the set up leaves a lot to be desired. To be honest, it felt like a tourist trap, so I’d skip it if you want a decent night sleep and a warm shower (bare minimum in IMHO).
I would highly recommend staying away from this place. We stopped by for lunch and horseback riding in late September 2025. The lunch cost us $70 for cheese sticks and two sandwiches. We were used to the expensive prices, but we were not prepared for the amount of flies inside the restaurant. It was super dirty - I can deal with amenities that aren’t updated, but there is no excuse for uncleanliness. (There was an old pile of dog poop on the lunch patio. It was dried out and had clearly been there a long time without anyone bothering to pick it up.) There were used napkins, wrappers and uncleaned baskets strewn about, and a general lack of proper maintenance. When we went up for our horseback riding, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. A woman asked if the horses responded to verbal commands and the guide made fun of her in front of everyone. We finally started our horseback riding session one hour behind, so we were glad we didn’t have any plans after that were set in stone. My horse stumbled and tripped 7-8 times over the span of an hour because the trails were strewn with rocks, which felt dangerous for the horses and riders alike. When I pointed this out to the staff (I’m usually extremely comfortable on a horse but felt like the horse was going to fall), they responded with "that’s just Buttercup! She’s clumsy." The views were absolutely stunning, but you can get those views from any other ranch. I would highly recommend staying away!
