Daiso - Japanese Household Goods

My bestie discovered this Japanese version of 5 and Below and took us there immediately! I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by their selection and the quality of products. Great customer service as well. Highly recommend.

Nice place to shop. Prices are very reasonable. Girls who work there are helpful and nice. We bought the birthday present for a kids birthday party we were invited to. They have nice wrapping options you can buy from the shelves, too. If you like Japanese cute stuff that are also pretty useful, along with some snacks, drinks and more, this is the place to go! One thing to remember tho, somehow the elevator was not going on the second floor. I don’t know if that was just for that day (Saturday morning) or always like that, but good to be alert when you go there with stroller or wheelchair. We went on 3rd floor and then walked down as it was easier for us that way. Parking can be found easily along the street.

I would like to recognize a young man at the register named Michael for providing truly exceptional customer service. He was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful during our visit. I was with a group of 9–10 year old girls who were shopping and trying to get the most bang for their buck, which naturally came with last-minute changes at the register. Michael handled everything with such grace and patience. He helped the girls count and organize their money, checked prices for them, and never once made them feel rushed or like an inconvenience. His kindness and positive attitude made the entire experience enjoyable for everyone. Michael absolutely deserves recognition for going above and beyond. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

I used to be a huge fan of Daiso, but I find it getting more and more expensive, being able find many things online for cheaper. It’s still an amazing store, it’s fun to kill time. Some items can cost the same, but clearly have different value like a pen, pack of batteries and a cleaning brush may cost the same, for example. Obviously, the items cost twice of the yen value. Also be aware: many food items are more expensive comparing to the sunrise mart downstairs.

A little hard to find, but a nice store overall! Daiso is on the second floor and it's a bit of a walk from the ground floor of Japan Village. If you take the elevators up, you have to walk past the Book Off stalls. It's faster if you walk to Sahadi's Market first and take the stairs, but I don't think there are elevators there. The registers are on the far side only (away from 3rd Ave) and there are two self checkout counters. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Stopped in here after visiting something else in industry city and I loved the selection I picked up so strawberry and peach KitKats and some Japanese beer. It definitely was great selection

Another yay for Daiso! Love this place, it's reasonably priced, the workers are nice and the goods are gooddd. If you're in Industry City, check it out!
