We've been to this office a couple times now. My son was referred for a recent fracture and possibly needed a cast. I set up an appointment over the phone, but when I came in for my appointment they said we didn't have an appointment scheduled. I know this wasn't the fault of the office and likely an error on MyChart, and was pretty disappointed at first but the lady at the desk was very patient and helpful. They were able to see us within an hour, were quick once they got us in and gave us great education before we left. I really appreciated how helpful they were and the patience they had despite the awkwardness of the situation!

Our son had a rarely seen fracture in kids and was transferred to Devos where he was seen and in surgery within an hour. I was so impressed with the knowledge, informed consent, and care that he received and we were given as parents. The staff all around was amazing from the security/information desk to the nurses, Dr.'s, OT and PT truly every single one of the staff was great! We have a long road of recovery ahead but I have no doubts at all that they gave him the best possible chance of a complete recovery. We are very thankful that we were close to such a great children's hospital when the accident occurred.

Brought my 2 year old in after no improvement since his ER visit almost a week prior. We saw Michelle Magnusson PA-C and she was excellent! She talked with my son about his toys etc before assessing his foot which helped him feel comfortable and safe. She also has a very fine tuned eye for detail and was able to catch that he had a fracture other than where we thought he was hurting. She told us what she was thinking and he got another xray, when she came back she confirmed her initial thoughts were correct. Not only was she kind but she was intelligent and explained everything well. All of the staff were great from the person who walked us back/ortho tech, to the xray tech and the staff who put his boot on. Such a great and kid-friendly place to get accurate answers and help that you can trust.

Was seen at OUCH Clinic with referrel here for my son's broken wrist. Spoke to my family Dr and he told me that the referrel was put in for STAT, well when I called here they said their triage team would review the referrel and let scheduling know when to schedule my son. They called back 2 hours later and said 2 weeks. So I contacted my family Dr again asking questions why STAT but then 2 weeks out, he said that what the radiologist states on the x-ray we should get a 2nd opinion. So they did a referrel and guess what, they called and immediately got my son in and he was to be in a cast as he had 2 fractures and one was at the growth plate...... Proves to me that its all about the corporate world instead of the patient. When I called to cancel my son's appointment here, the person who took my call had lots of back ground noise, dog barking and TV on loud, and was very rude, when I stated that we got a 2nd opinion and he is being treated else where. The answer I got was ok, have a nice day,- hang up! Not very professional.

Not Impressed. The staff was kind and friendly, from the registration, tech and nurse but I felt like the appt was brushed off as insignificant by the provider. The event is significant for us, and significant for my highly active son. There was very little education performed at the appointment, the idea of how long the injury would take to heal was unspecified. There was no demonstration of the proper exercises to do to help rehab this as well. The only reason I know what I know coming away from the appointment is because I felt like I interrogated the provider to give me information. The practice should realize that people are waiting for these appointments, sometimes almost week out from a significant injury after a trip to the ED, families are taking a day off work to take their children to appointments, going through the rigmarole of a parking garage and navigating to a unfamiliar office, all while nursing a child’s injury at home. Parents don’t want a 5 minute appointment. I do not feel that there was much compassion from the provider. However, that is not the number one importance for me, it just felt like a five minute doctor appointment for something routine for the provider that we got very little out of. I don’t want to return to be 100 percent honest, I feel is was a waste of my effort and time to use this practice. I expected more and better for a hospital that specializes in children. I do not feel he went "untreated", best way I can sum it up is that I’m not impressed.

We have always felt top of the priority list from the second we get off the elevator to the time we walk back out. Everyone is so kind, quick and knowledgeable. I always know going to Devos orthopedics that we are seeing the best people who begin to feel like family. They always help as if it were their own child. I can’t recommend enough.

Awesome team members. Ive had 2 children who have been seen at the Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital. One for kidney failure and the other for a broken arm. Each visit has been an experience where they made us feel comfortable and very important. Highly recommend them!
