I was a patient here for many years and always loved the office staff. However, about two years ago the experience started to change. I was repeatedly encouraged to get veneers, and I finally agreed. I informed the staff member who handles pricing that my insurance would be ending at the end of the month. She told me, "Then let’s get it done," so I moved forward. I paid $4,000 out of pocket and put on a credit card. Part of the treatment included spacers to help my teeth move. I work in sales and am outdoors often. I was told I could take them out to eat, but I was never informed that they must be worn all day and night. Because of my schedule, I couldn’t put them back in until I got home. Later, I was told to stop using them because they no longer fit. When I explained I wasn’t given the proper instructions, nothing was resolved. Then I received a call saying my insurance wasn’t covering the treatment — even though the staff member knew my insurance was ending. Fast forward to now: I scheduled an appointment, and later received a call saying I owed $1,500 plus collection fees, bringing the total to $1,800. I had never received a bill, a call, or any notice. When I asked about it, the staff member spoke to me very rudely, so I matched her tone. She said they were "reviewing files" and found that I owed money. To make things even more confusing, months ago I received a refund check from them because they said I had a credit. None of this makes sense. I paid for a treatment I didn’t complete, and now my teeth are worse because of spacers that no longer fit. On my last visit, the doctor accidentally poked my hand with a needle. She apologized, so I didn’t make an issue of it — but looking back, maybe I should have brought it up. I’ve never written a negative review before, but if sharing this helps someone else avoid the frustration and confusion I went through, then it’s worth it.

Communication is great! My treatment plan and all scans and x-rays were all presented and explained to me, so there were no surprises. My exam and cleaning were painless and thorough. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for a practice that cares!

Ive been a patient at Essington Family Dental for many years. Before I received dental care at the clinic I didnt take the care of my teeth seriously. As a child I had negative experiences and became scared to get dental care. When I started going to Essington Family Dental the hygienists, dentists and other staff were kind, professional, and put me at ease making my dental experience enjoyable and pleasant. I got the best possible treatment on yesterday. Everything went so much better than I ever could have imagined. It took much longer for the procedure but my dentist wanted to be precise and took an x-ray during the treatment process. I've literally experienced absolutely no pain or swelling. The root canal was easier than my cleaning.

Cathy was amazing! She made my visit very comfortable, answered every question I had, and explained everything step by step before my procedure. Essington Dental is very lucky to have her. Highly recommend!

went to this place once and never again. switched to this practice because it was close to my home and i went in for a simple dental cleaning. took almost 2ish hours which was ridiculous. the dental hygienist was very nice but when the dentist came in he said i needed braces and they were hosting an event later that week and i could get a discount if i go. um, i have had routine cleanings with my original dentist, have been told how perfect my teeth were all my life for this new person to tell me different? lol and then try to promote their event. it was so weird. never went back. i ended up finding a different dentist who looked at me crazy when i asked about braces.

It was my first time there as a new patient. From Scheduling, to the time I left, everyone was friendly and professional. Everything from procedures to the insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs were explained to my satisfaction. First impressions are high! Feeling confident in trusting them to my future dental care.
