I am so thankful for the Palm Beach Book Store and Candice Cohen, the owner. I make a point to always stop in at her store whenever I come down to Palm Beach for the season. I was at our book club meeting which was at The Breakers Hotel and they had no good books at their Newsstand store. I can't begin to tell you how helpful your staff was in helping me come up with a book list for our group, pick out two new books to read, and find a few new cookbooks for my kitchen! I had the nicest long chat with Candice today, who is so charming. Please support her wonderful book store that is independently owned. We need more stores like hers in Palm Beach. Thank you, Candice!!! BTW....my favorite book of 2025 is called The Correspondent by Virginia Evans so stop in to buy it! Kathy from Chicago
Not a huge selection but found just what we wanted. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.
As a frequent visitor of Palm Beach from New York, the Palm Beach book Store is always my first stop. Not only do they have the best selections, but the recommendations are spot on every time. The owner, Candice, has an adorable puppy (it's worthwhile to stop in just to visit her Caviller King Charles). Put your kindle down and visit The Palm Beach Book Store- you won't regret it.
The feeling one gets in this store is that they’ve just moved in, placed books in plainly designated shelves, and that’s it. Feels bare bones. No recommended books, no decorations, no plants, no helpful notes or tips or personal touches anywhere. I’ve seen more character in an airport bookstore. I also feel there was space for more shelves, tables, etc. selection was limited but acceptable. Overall, the ambiance and style, or lake thereof, felt very alien on the charming and bougie Palm Beach Main Street. Dog in the store was nice. Owner and assistant acknowledged us, and appeared to be in a very gregarious conversation with a local friend and customer.
I have been buying books from this store for approximately 15 years and have always been impressed. They always seem to have a great and interesting selection of architecture, interior design, and landscaping. Also the business, biographies, and cooking books are true gems. They are always helpful and care about the customer.
What a wonderful asset to have this delightful bookstore in the community! And the level of customer service is outstanding. I called to see if they had the book "Horse" and asked them to put it aside as I needed it for a gift. When I got there it was not only ready it was beautifully wrapped for me to present as a gift. Great people and great books!
Matthew(comments below) must have just been stunned to see an institution in Palm Beach that left glam and instagram at the door. Seeking learnedness instead of relevance to your Palm Beach chic bookshelf comment, would have pulled you into the best design and architectural section anywhere in south Florida. Novels? Blinded by your deliberate misreading of the bookish atmosphere you didn’t see the staff picks on the walls. Yes the team members read! You don’t cook or have kids; could have stayed for hours. I have been buying a lot of books there for over 30 years even though I am Amazon prime. It’s called support for a community asset. If you need fresh flowers and plants to stimulate your intellect or imagination you should read more. Go back!
