Sour and dour should be the name for the two staff members working this afternoon. I purchased several books, and yet she watched me the entire 10min shopping experience as if I was going to steal. They were not hospitable nor kind, I would rather have spent my money elsewhere - however I didn’t want her to accuse me of anything given my skin color. I’m sure there’s (any) other bookstores with a better staff experience.

Agree with the last few reviews about weird atmosphere. I popped in with friends and her kids after brunch. I’ll note that the kids were well behaved and not touching everything or anything like that. The staff leered at us the whole time. When I left, as I always do, I said "have a good day and thank you!" The front staff just said "uh huh" in a snooty tone. This really put a sour taste in my mouth and when I happened to peak back in the store window as we left she was staring at us with a scowl on her face. This whole interaction was so off putting and rude!

The woman who I assume is the owner is an absolute nightmare. She’s incredibly rude and created a very hostile environment. We left after 5 minutes because she made us so uncomfortable which is unfortunate because one person in our group was an avid reader and very excited to buy a few books

my friend and i came into this book shop thinking it was going to be a cozy, comforting experience but immediately as we walk in we knew it was not going to be that. as we walk in, my friend was carrying her coffee in her hand, and we weren’t greeted with a "hello" or "welcome in" rather a "put your drink on the desk please" at least she said please…. the entire time my friend and i were there looking through books and chatting quietly to each other about the books, the lady at the desk was STARING at us the ENTIRE time. i mean every time i look back she is giving me the deepest glare. it was immensely uncomfortable. we were in there for about 15 minutes and the entire time all of those who worked there (3 people) didn’t offer any help or recommendations. it was completely silent on their behalf. after all of that, my friend grabs her drink, we said thank you and left. perhaps it was because i was wearing athletic wear (maybe an inch of my stomach was showing) but so what? and it was also 90 degrees outside so? overall, very disappointing experience. i was looking forward to supporting a local business

Weird atmosphere. The lady at the desk stared at me and my two friends while we shopped around. She was not friendly at all when we asked questions and checked out. My friends had athletic clothing/crop tops on but it’s hot outside so that’s not unusual. The store was also weirdly short stocked for the amount of shelf space they had, with several shelves only having 3 books on it.

Dirty floors, disorganized shelves, outdated inventory and the best part is an unfriendly, creepy, "Tales from the Crypt" lady stares at you from the front desk, the whole time you are there! Unsettling experience, Zero stars, would never go back. Don’t waste your time.

Very weird experience. Walked into the store and immediately was told to "put my coffee on the counter". While sure I understand it’s a book store and walking around with a coffee could potentially damage a book. However the weirdest part was the lady that just stared at my mother and I the whole time. She didn’t even ask if we needed help, or what we were looking for, just stared intently at us. We left because it was uncomfortable. We walked down the street and turned around to walk back to our car, as we passed the store again the lady was standing at the entrance staring at us again as we walked by. It’s also not even a "Classic Book" store. They don’t have a good selection of classic or even a variety of books.
