Wilmington Health Dermatology - Porters Neck

I almost gave one star. Reached out to Samantha Bowman via patient portal email on 6/12/25 and have heard nothing as of 6/23. Tried to make an appointment on 6/17 via patient portal only to get message that it could not be done that way SO I called the Porter's Neck office and got recording to text a message to get an appointment. Did it on6/17 and still heard nothing as of 6/23/25. Called AGAIN today (6/23/25) to talk to someone at Porter's Neck office to get an appointment and waited and waited until I got a message to press 1 for a call back and informed if call was after 4pm I would get a call the next day. My message was at 10:23 am and NO Call was received today! Horrible horrible horrible service! I'm calling another dermatologist and it will NOT be with Wilmington Health! Don't ever use them! Horrible customer service! If I didn't like my general practitioner Jill Finnegan so much I SWEAR I'd just leave WHA PERIOD! Yes... I'm angry! I've been a patient for years and yet WHA dermatology is the worst experience I've ever had!

Great experience all around. Front of desk & scheduling staff were very friendly & helpful. As for my actual appointment, Christi Dolinar was excellent! So knowledgeable with a great manner & approach about her. She took her time examining me, inquired thoroughly about my current skincare routine & answered all my questions. She inspired such confidence that I scheduled with her that day my first ever Botox appointment. I’ve been thinking of doing it for about a year now, but never found anyone I truly trusted with my face, until my appointment with Christi. Excellent experience all around, 10 out of 10.

Front reception was extremely nice! The dermatologist was unorganized, rude, and dismissive.

The receptionists were both so pleasant and accommodated my request for a Tuesday appointment. Dr.Appel is always thorough in his exam and asks if I have any concerns. I feel that he truly listens to what I have to say.

Loved this office. Staff was very friendly. Felt like they were stretched just a bit thin but it had no effect on our appt. My husband and I were both seen by the p.a. and she was wonderful. She gave us a very thorough exam plus had a great personality and bedside manner. You don't always get both

The providers are amazing , so caring and willing to answer questions . The downside of this practice is that you will wait 45 minutes at the very least to be seen. To the practice mangers , stop overbooking patients .

I saw Samantha Bowman and it was an extremely helpful visit. She was respectful of what my priorities were. I Appreciate her listening and working through options to find the best course of skincare for me. I also appreciate her educating me on why certain medications were used, I like to be informed so this was great! Everyone was on time and I did not have to wait past my appointment time, everyone was very friendly and helpful checking me in and out, and doing me intake as well!
