Tristan Marie

I received most of my prenatal care at this clinic before transferring to Mass General Hospital OBGYN at 30 weeks, and I truly wish I had switched much sooner. Overall, the quality of care was disappointing. Prenatal appointments consistently felt rushed and impersonal. I saw a different provider at every visit, which made it impossible to build any kind of relationship or continuity of care, something that feels especially important during pregnancy. The midwives were particularly frustrating. They would agree with my concerns during appointments, only to later document or act differently in the patient portal without communicating those changes to me. One major issue involved PFML paperwork for my husband. Although this clinic is located in New Hampshire, we live in Massachusetts, and navigating Massachusetts PFML is a common reality for patients receiving care across state lines. The staff was consistently unhelpful and seemed unfamiliar with the process. In contrast, once I transferred my care to MGH, the nurses immediately knew exactly which forms were needed and how to handle them. Ultrasounds were another major concern. As a high-risk pregnancy patient, being rushed in and out in roughly 10 minutes felt careless and disheartening. The techs rarely attempted to get clear images, and I never received a decent ultrasound photo. While this may seem minor to some, it matters. Especially during a high-risk pregnancy. More concerning, I was once given someone else’s ultrasound images, which staff did not even notice until I pointed it out. Overall, the nursing staff did not seem willing to go out of their way to provide thorough or supportive care. The only consistently positive experience at this clinic was with the front desk staff, who were kind and pleasant. Since transferring to Mass General Hospital, the difference has been night and day, from prenatal appointments to ultrasounds to administrative support. I would not recommend this clinic, and I strongly wish I had trusted my instincts and switched providers earlier in my pregnancy.

After going to a few other OBGYN’s in the area, Wentworth Douglas has stood out as one of the best. Lisa has been incredible as a "day-to-day" OBGYN, as well as assisting alongside all of our fertility needs.

I have had nothing but great experiences with this practice. They took excellent care of me and my two daughters who were born at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. The obstetricians are top notch and the midwives are skilled and compassionate. I really appreciate how they work together. For those who are critical of birth practices in hospitals - and there's plenty to critique - I found the OB/midwife model to offer a safe, supportive, and low-intervention option. I felt like everyone trusted the process of birth, while having every medical resource on standby. Somehow they always manage to see me on the same day - usually within a few hours of my call - when I have a problem, which is pretty amazing.
