Traveling from Baltimore, Maryland this was the first stop from the airport. When I tell you the food was amazing, please believe me. Our waitress was Maria and she took well care of us. Very hospitable and accommodating, pleasant and fun. She even gave us an introduction, backstory and current workings of the owner Chef Quentin Love. (Maria is the MVP) Our group had such a great time there. I definitely have to make this a stop during any trip to Chicago.✌🏾 Thanks for everything! I will be back!

Yall when I tell you I'm so glad I decided to get up and out on this cold day to have brunch with my friend. My goodness It's a beautiful, clean, quaint establishment. There's good music 🎶 🎵 playing through the speakers that gives it an extra vibe. We went with the recommendation by our server who was so freaking nice (I can't remember her name) and patient with us. We had the Creole Seafood Dressing....🫶🏾🤌🏽🙌🏽 it was good. So sooooo sooooo good. I mean the greens, sweet potatoes, the catfish, yall just go try it. Everything was good and they gave nice size portions. The chefs 👨🏽‍🍳 👩🏾‍🍳Melvin and Shawn yall did that and continue to Keep doing it 🔥🔥we will be back. Ooh wait I forgot they have the pound cake dessert.... smh smh you smelled the goodness as soon as it hit the table. I forgot to take a picture

The food here is phenomenal. The last time I had a meal cooked with this much love, skill, and talent was Thanksgiving 1984, only my dearly departed Grandmother cooked this well. The ingredients are top-notch, the food is seasoned at every step of the cooking process (if you know, you know), the atmosphere is great, and the service is exemplary. I ordered the seafood dressing, which comes with two catfish fillets, real American catfish, either fried or blackened. The yams were perfection with a hint of citrus, and yams aren't even my favorite, but these were exceptional. I could eat a bowl of them. The greens were perfectly seasoned, light, and flavorful. The dressing steals the show: perfectly prepared cornbread stuffing with grilled and seasoned shrimp and crawfish. This meal was like the best Thanksgiving ever. My companion ordered the fried chicken, which comes with two slices of caramelized pound cake! The chicken is well-seasoned and juicy. The potatoes are seemingly twice-fried and delicious. The sweet and spicy sauce on the chicken is delicate and flavorful. Speaking of delicate, the mango lemonade was not overly sweet or tart. It's flavored with mango but not overpowered by it.

BEST DAMN BIRTHDAY BECAUSE OF THE SOUL FOOD LOUNGE! The service…the ambience…the music…the presentation A1! But bsbyyyy the servers were the absolute BEST SERVERS I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Jennifer and Will made this experience UNMATCHED. Jennifer was so fun and guarantee hospitable and Will was a complete gentleman and so charismatic! Then…came…the..FOOD! THE FOOOOOD!!! Omg. We had the Grand Tasting which is their entree sampler. We weren’t even able to knock a dent in our dishes! Complementary wine or champagne cane with the Tasting. And every single dish was phenomenal!! I have never dined and been this excited about the experience. Listen, this is the first Google review I’ve ever written! The Soul Food Lounge is a gem right in the heart of North Lawndale and if you haven’t been you HAVE TO GO! I’ll be back and I’m bringing reinforcements!! Thank you Jennifer and Will for making our birthdays so special.

This place was 🔥! Literally no complaints! The place is small , but it just makes everyone feel like family! They had someone playing on the saxophone which made the vibes! We went for brunch and had the tasting! It comes with so much food and unlimited mimosas! Great deal!!!! Will be back!

The atmosphere was OK. Kind of small, and the decor was drab. The food was tasty. The Creole Seafood Dressing was good, but I think the dressing could be cooked a little longer. While we were there, they ran out of champagne and forgot one of our dishes. The chef was apologetic and made the dish to go. I will try the Beverly location soon.

Food was beyond delicious !! Everything was cooked to perfection. We tried almost everything lol. The lobster Alfredo was my favorite. The cornbread is to die for. The maple fried chicken is good. Also, the Hibiscus tea is so goooooood. Chef personally came out and took our order. He was so sweet and friendly. There was music playing in the behind, nice vibes.
