I had a great experience with my gum grafting done here! Dr. Valentine is very professional and helpful. He made sure to come by and say hi before my anesthesia which I appreciated. Norma was also amazing before and after my surgery. She was very kind and helpful, and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place!

Dr. Valentine was more than competent and caring. My entire experience was positive with an excellent outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Valentine and his practice to anyone needing periodontal care.

Bad experience. Poor post operative care and follow up, provider was dismissive, uncaring. I made a follow up appointment 4 days after my procedure because despite the prescribed post operative regimen I’ve been in extreme pain that has not improved. I’ve had drainage from my op site, swelling and bruising way beyond what I’ve had with previous same procedures. Was in tears in their office. I was told that the pus coming from my graft was saliva, which it is not. I was offered another round of antibiotics and steroids for pain- which have not worked for me. Still taking NSAIDs and ice and antibiotics and prescribed meds and am worse off than before. I’ve called my primary dentist and another periodontist as I feel completely dismissed by Dr Valentine and his staff. I don’t feel like I was listened to nor treated appropriately. It is not ok to miss work for a week or not sleep for a week because of untreated pain. I was told everything was normal, and that was it. I can only hope other providers in this office are not like this update: the office reached out to me and am thankful for the follow up. to be clear the issue was with one specific doctor, Dr. Valentine. I ended up seeking care at UNC perio and had to have another surgery to take all the infected graft an tissue out.

I was referred to Dr. Valentine due to the complexities of the bone graft I would need and he did not disappoint. From the first meeting I was informed of what my process would require and given a timeline for each step. The final results were impressive and people can't even tell there's an implant there.

Dr. Valentine is the most caring and thoughtful periodontist I have ever worked with! He really took care in each implant case and took the time to really explain everything step by step. I feel very lucky to have Dr. Valentine as our family dentist. Would definitely recommend!

Everyone was very nice and I’m sure they did what needed to be done to my teeth, but I feel that their practice is very pushy, especially after hearing a similar experience from a co-worker. I ended up paying $3000 out of pocket for a deep cleaning because insurance only reimbursed me $400. My fault for not asking enough questions, but I was also terrified of losing my teeth after everything they told me, which I now realize was not as bad as it was made to seem. Very nice people but ask all the questions because they are not forthcoming with information, get a second opinion, and talk to your insurance before committing to work done here.

Dr. Valentine and his team are wonderful. I recently had an implant and the whole process from start to finish was smooth. I was comfortable, at ease and the whole process was done within an hour. Dr. Valentine knows what he is doing and just a down to earth and easy going person. Thank you for an amazing visit!
