I enjoyed my visit to Stone Korean. The I tried the Hot Pot Bi-bim-bap ($25); they served it in a stone bowl, smokin' hot, and as my friend advised I immediately mixed in the egg and stirred it so the rice wouldn't burn. Very tasty! I also tried their Beef Bulgogi and it was excellent. It can be a bit loud if there's a noisy group in there — as there was when I visited — and the prices are bit high for lunch, but I'd definitely come back again.
Fried chicken- no wings or thighs, yadi yadi. Only whole chicken that chopped up into multiple pieces. We got half and half, no sauce and half with sauce. The chicken was crispy and crunchy but meat was on the dried side. Sauce was different and too sweet, almost like eating sweet and sour pork from a Chinese restaurant, but with no hints of sour. Bulgogi - way too sweet, almost like a dessert. This is supposed to be a savory dish. Sol Lung Tang - beef bone soup - way too salty. Totally ruined the soup. We had to ask for hot water to dilute the soup. 1 and 1/2 bowls of hot waters, that’s how salty this dish was. Seafood Tofu casserole - very yummy and flavorful at first. This was my favorite dish out of all until half way through. Then it got way too salty. I think the chef put sodium on the casserole, then pour tofu on clay pot. Same as the Sol Lung Tang. Totally ruined two good dishes. The Napa Kimchi banchan was surprisingly good though. As perfect as it can get.
A great neighbourhood Korean restaurant with generous helpings and a great menu. I brought my family here for a birthday lunch and everyone gave it a thumbs up. Though the footprint is less than ideal, they make it work and our table for a big group was quite spacious. My parents tried to pay, but the server actually let me cancel their payment so I could cover the meal. A thousand extra points for me as an Asian. Servings are generous and there's nothing I can't recommend. I especially thought the short ribs were great.
Stopped by to devour some Korean food post hike and Stone did not disappoint. We were promptly seated on a saturday during dinner time and there were plenty of empty tables around. We ordered the veggie pancakes, spicy chicken bulgogi, chicken hot pot bibimbap, combo pork bulgogi and pork bibimbap, and veggie bibimbap. The veggie pancakes and pork bulgogi were phenomenal and my favs. The spicy chicken bulgogi was a close second with the meat cooked well and the spices were great. The bibimbap was good but I preferred the other dishes above it. Service was quick, spacious interiors, ambience is good and food is good - what more can one ask for. Good spot to get your korean cravings.
A good place to experience the authentic Korean chicken. The spicy bulgogi chicken was amazing. A great blend of spice, flavour and the barbeque texture. A must try absolutely. Going by the reviews, we ordered the Vegetable Tofu soup and unfortunately it was underwhelming at best. It had a strong base of kimchi which I am not fond off. Worth mentioning is the sides that they provide as part of table sides. Some of them like Fish cakes, sweet and chilli cucumber and potato were amazing. Giving this place 3 stars because of the tofu disappointment. But a must try for non-vegetarians. The service is pretty quick. The only thing I didn’t like is they served the bill even when we were not even half way through our food. I mean what’s the rush guys? It’s not that there were 10 people waiting behind. It was an empty restaurant. Ambience is pretty upscale compared to Asian restaurants.
As a vegetarian, I often struggle to find great spots that cater to my taste—but Stone Korean really surprised me in the best way. We stopped by on a quiet Monday night, and here’s what we tried: • Bibimbap Hot Pot with Tofu – Hands down, the best bibimbap hot pot I’ve had in the area. The crispy rice at the bottom with their spicy sauce is chef’s kiss. The combo of eggs, veggies, and rice was perfectly balanced. I genuinely recommend this over any other bibimbap spot in town. • Kimchi Soup – I was hesitant at first since I’m not a fan of the strong fermented flavor, but this one was a pleasant surprise. It was flavorful, mildly spicy, and didn’t have that overpowering tang. Served with a side of rice and very filling. • Veggie Pancake – First time trying this, and I was impressed. The portion is generous, the texture crispy, and the soy dipping sauce brings it all together. Honestly, this could be a meal on its own. Also, the sides were very tasty especially the coleslaw like dessert. The ambiance is calm and modern, with order kiosks at every table. The staff was attentive and friendly. Prices are reasonable, and the whole experience felt very pocket-friendly. I’ll definitely be back when the bibimbap cravings hit again!
The bibimbap was good but considerably more expensive than other Korean restaurants in the area. We found a hair in one of our dishes and alerted the waiter. They only offered to remake that dish instead of taking it off the bill, and at that point we weren’t interested in more food. For the price, you can find much better options for Korean food
