Had a great experience with friends. In regard to the food: The pork belly was delish and the set was SO generous in portion and reasonable in pricing. Also adding on the steak was the MOVE. The cold noodles were so refreshing and paired well with the fatty pork. But what really made this dining experience stand out was our server Ben. Shoutout Ben. Cannot say how outstanding and attentive he was. 😭🙏 he really made it such an unforgettable meal

Just had the most phenomenal experience here. I'm so used to going to Korean beef BBQ spots, this is my first time at a pork based spot(they have beef brisket). 6/5, Will definitely return, and bring friends for that matter. The food is amazing, juicy, tasty, and generous in portions. There was a large amount of side dishes, including rarities like Tteobooki and marinated crab. Few places offer these types of side dishes so it was worth pointing out. They also offer a variety of Korean staples like Military Soup, etc. But above all, the service is very, very noteworthy. Our server, Ben, was extremely friendly, engaging and God Bless his patience with my non-stop talking machine of a 4 year old son. Our experience with him would make us want to return. Constantly ensuring we had a good experience, he was knowledgeable and kept us laughing, smiling, and he cooked the meat to perfection. Service from Ben was a 6 out of 5. Overall, it was a great experience. Some places are overwhelmed with smoke, music so loud you can't think, and staff overwhelmed by the amount of tables. This didn't happen here and I know the next time I'm in the area this will be high on my list of restaurants to eat at. Thanks Ben for being so caring of my son!!!

Soosanghan is hands down one of the best Korean BBQ spots in New Jersey. As a Korean who eats Korean BBQ out quite often, I can confidently say this place is absolutely delicious and worth visiting multiple times. The pork belly is incredible—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The quality of the meat alone is impressive, but what really makes this place stand out is the variety and generosity of the appetizers. They serve so many classic Korean sides like tteokbokki, corn salad, and pajeon, and they’re very generous with refills. Everything tastes authentic and satisfying, just like back in Korea. Our server, John, was also amazing—super friendly and attentive, and he grilled the meat perfectly for us, which made the entire dining experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic Korean BBQ with great service and plenty of delicious side dishes, I highly recommend Soosanghan.

Absolutely must-visit! It was fantastic! I really appreciated that they offer fresh vegetables I could enjoy with the meat—it’s a rarity these days. Plus, they had a variety of dipping sauces. We opted for the pork combo, which allowed us to pick one of the soups, and we chose Cheonggukjang, which was absolutely amazing. We ended up eating two bowls of rice each. They mentioned they make everything themselves, including the side dishes. It was quite busy since it was the weekend, but the staff grilled everything perfectly. We finished with cold noodles, and they were incredibly refreshing.

Holy heavenly pork. My husband and I came for our first visit tonight and thanked the social media algorithm that put this place on our radar. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and the stairwell leading up is so quiet and eerie that we wondered if it might be closed. But as soon as we stepped inside, it was clear that good eats were ahead. The air inside was thick with the smell of smoke and barbecued meats, and every table was littered with all kinds of side dishes (which come free with meat orders). I was happily surprised by the premium side dishes, like tteokbokki, steamed egg, raw marinated crab, and choice of stew (either kimchi or fermented soybean). Before long, it was time for meat. As far as the cooking goes, this is a full service meal, with servers prepping the grill, cooking and cutting the meat, and refilling things as needed. I love the taste of Korean barbecue but I don't love smelling like it for hours later, so we definitely appreciated the retractable exhaust hoods that sucked up most of the smoke. The grill is cleverly tilted to allow most of the rendered fats to drip away, and the servers place finished meats on an offset pan to avoid overcooking. They've got meat preparation to an art form here, and the taste of that dry aged pork was outstanding. Service was fantastic throughout our meal, with servers stopping to prep, cook, or refill things on our table as we noshed our way through the meal. Few things were amiss. We had to ask for the lettuce that comes standard with meats, and we never got our cutlery. But we made out fine with the buckets of disposable cutlery At the end of the meal, my husband leaned back in his chair, patted his belly contentedly, and declared, "That was the best meal I’ve had in months." I couldn't agree more.

It’s rare to find a Korean BBQ restaurant in New Jersey with such a clear concept and attention to space and detail. The vibe is inspired by retro Korean "냉삼" restaurants, but done in a clean and modern way—not gimmicky. Stylish interior, generous seating space, and wide table distance made the dining experience very comfortable. They serve two types of pork belly:
thin-sliced frozen pork belly (Korean "naengsam" style) and dry-aged pork belly. The naengsam is sliced thin, cooked quickly, and develops a light crisp on the outside with a savory, clean finish—very true to the Korean cold-cut samgyeopsal style. The dry-aged pork belly was outstanding: tender fat that melts slowly, deep pork flavor, and a rich, aromatic finish. I personally preferred the dry-aged cut, though it does have more fat, so that’s something to keep in mind depending on your taste. Side dishes were plentiful—steamed egg, doenjang stew, and even tteokbokki—so the meal stayed enjoyable without feeling heavy.
The scallion salad was especially memorable: bright, tangy, slightly sweet and spicy, and perfect with the meat. Prices for meat and soju were reasonable, portions were generous, and the staff were friendly in a relaxed way. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience without feeling rushed or crowded. If you're looking for an authentic Korean retro pork-belly experience with great flavor and atmosphere, I highly recommend visiting. I will definitely be back.

I had an incredible dining experience at Susanghan Kkotdwaeji. If you’re looking for top-tier Korean BBQ in Palisades Park, this is the spot! First and foremost, the pork is incredibly fresh and high-quality. Every bite was succulent and packed with flavor. What makes the meal even better is the variety of side dishes (banchan) that come with the sets—everything was delicious, fresh, and perfectly complemented the meat. The staff here are true professionals. They are attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and exceptionally kind, making the whole experience feel welcoming and seamless. One thing I noticed is that while the restaurant is famous for its amazing pork, they also have a fantastic selection of premium beef on the menu. It feels like a hidden gem! I’ll definitely be coming back to try the beef next time. I honestly think if they highlighted their beef options more, they’d attract an even larger crowd—it looks just as promising as their pork. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, high-quality BBQ with great service!
