Skin Laundry - Del Amo Fashion Center

Looks like I’m not the only one who had a bad experience with this company as a whole. Below is the email I sent and never got a reply. I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience so that you are aware of what happened and can hopefully prevent this from happening to future clients. I had originally scheduled an appointment at the Del Amo Fashion Center location on Friday, September 19 at 6:15 PM. That morning, I attempted to call multiple times and left several texts and one voicemails to ask whether my recent use of benzoyl peroxide would interfere with the treatment. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response. By early afternoon, I decided to call the Santa Monica location instead, where I was able to get through immediately. Since that location is also closer to my workplace, I felt more comfortable switching my appointment there. In addition, when Del Amo sent me the intake form, I was unable to complete it due to a technical issue that said I didn’t have valid credentials, despite not having an account yet. The Santa Monica location sent me their version of the form, which I was able to complete successfully. On that form, I disclosed that I have epilepsy (not triggered by flashing lights, but rather by dehydration, stress, alcohol, and lack of sleep). I submitted the completed form roughly one hour before my appointment. When I arrived at Santa Monica, the staff welcomed me, and we began the process: cleansing my face, reviewing the intake information, and preparing for the treatment. At that point, I mentioned my epilepsy disclosure just to make sure everything was noted. I clarified that I am on medication, that I have never been triggered by flashing lights, and that I felt confident moving forward. Only then was I told that Skin Laundry could not proceed with the treatment due to my medical history. A nurse came in to confirm, and the appointment was stopped. While I completely respect that safety protocols must come first, I was frustrated that: I was not contacted as soon as my intake form flagged the epilepsy disclosure. I had to raise the issue myself, even after we had already begun the intake process in person. I had arranged my schedule, canceled other commitments, and traveled to the appointment only to be turned away. If epilepsy is a strict contraindication for your services, I wish that had been communicated to me immediately upon receipt of my form — or even more ideally, listed clearly on your website or when scheduling. This would have saved me considerable time and effort. Not to mention the way I felt after being told I could not receive services. I felt so embarrassed and ashamed of my condition everyone as just kind of staring at me as I looked around and tried to gather my things and my shame and run out the door. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving communication and client care. Please let me know if there is any resolution you can offer in light of the inconvenience. In short, if I hadn’t opened my big mouth, you would have a lawsuit on your hands. You’re welcome.

Came in after being spammed on Instagram. It was a pleasant experience. The offer is $75 for your first signature laser facial. The facial was 15 minutes and feels just like a bit of warmness on your face. The facial is performed by an RN Nurse. They ask what you are looking for in results and try and advice you afterwards. After one day I don’t see much difference yet so can’t report on the results. Seems they try and get you to do a subscription after to upkeep and see more results. I was not quiet ready to jump that bridge yet so they offered a follow-up treatment of the resurfacing facial, which has a little downtime and likely more results for a special of $75. So I did book that and look forward to seeing how it goes. For other people curious the packages seemed interesting with the rejuvenating one allowing you to share with a friend and even carry the credits if you don’t make it one month. Prices were a bit high for such a quick service, but guess that’s everything now right?

The staff was very friendly, and explained the treatment I was going to have thoroughly. They were not pushy about getting additional treatment once I told them i was not interested.

⭐ 1 of 5 stars – WARNING: Read before booking! ⸻ 🚫 Terrible Customer Service and Zero Flexibility I booked an appointment at the Skin Laundry del amo for 2:45 PM. I arrived in the lobby at 2:51 PM—just six minutes after the official start time (or five minutes late, by staff count). After waiting five minutes at the front desk without being acknowledged, an employee finally appeared and proceeded to deny me service for being "more than five minutes late." My booking was simply canceled on the spot. I arrived only slightly late and was treated like a no‑show. Despite having a confirmed appointment and being visible in the lobby, no one offered to bend the cancellation policy—even to ask Malformed "5-Minute Grace Period"—Policy vs. Reality Skin Laundry’s FAQ and cancellation policy repeatedly claim: "If you cancel or reschedule within 12 hours of your appointment start time or arrive more than 5 minutes late, you will be charged a $25 cancellation fee and will need to make a new appointment. Yet in practice, there’s zero grace—arrive right at 5:01 PM for a 5:00 PM booking, and you’re out. Reviews confirmed this nonsense: "I was so upset with my today experience … I was running 5 mins late because of parking issue. canceled my appointment and send me away.  My experience—arriving only a couple minutes late, visible in the waiting area, yet being refused service—perfectly mirrors that pattern. Instead of honoring their online "5-minute rule," the clinic enforced it religiously, even when seated in their lobby. It’s 3:01 when writing this review my appointment was 2:45.

I was looking to get on a more consistent facial routine, so I thought I would give Skin Laundry a try. They had a $50 special for their signature facial for new clients. This is a $275 facial. I was there early and waited 30 minutes before they took me for the actual facial. During the wait, I filled out a form and they took a couple pictures, a total of 5 minutes of time spent. The "facial" lasted less than 10 minutes, so disappointing. She went over my face a few times with the laser and put on some moisturizer. I get facials very often and this is just a scam. This is really supposed to be worth $275!? My face looks no different and I won’t be returning. Spend your money elsewhere. The staff was very pleasant, but that’s the only positive thing I have to say.

I finally finally found a solution to my acne, acne scars and discoloration. I only had 3 lasers for now and I see my skin transforming over night. Everyone at Skin Laundry are very helpful and responsive so this makes the whole experience feel comfortable and easy. The scheduling is super easy as I can book on the app and it’s accurate.
