Pima Medical Institute - Chula Vista

Joined the Dental Assistant program in April, and had the opportunity to join Ms. Perez's morning class. I've never had a single regret in joining this program. Ms. P always creates a wonderful learning environment for all no matter at what level her students are. Even if you know nothing about dental, she'll get you right on track with everything so that you never feel left behind. Her teaching style is very patient and passionate, and I feel that when she teaches she shares that passion onto her students. Learning in Ms. P's class has always been enjoyable and very interactive. She pushes for growth in all her students and motivates them to continue even when it's tough. Being in her class has been a great pleasure and I'm glad I got the opportunity to be here. I highly recommend the DA program to anybody that is looking to grow and be passionate about their future.

We have been exceptionally fortunate to learn under the guidance of Yesenia Perez. As a dental instructor, she truly embodies the ideal blend of expertise, patience, and dedication qualities that are absolutely critical in both teaching and dental practice. Her commitment to her students is matched only by her commitment to her patients. She manages an impressively high volume of patients with remarkable efficiency and calm, never letting the busy schedule compromise the quality of care or the individual attention each patient and student needs. She creates a learning environment that is simultaneously demanding and supportive. We are challenged to perform at our best, but always with the assurance that her wealth of experience is there to guide and troubleshoot.

I’ve really enjoyed my experience so far in Pima - very friendly staff, well organized, and they prepared you for when you are placed in real life positions. The instructors are always willing to help with your questions and help you with your skills. For my DA program my instructor Yesenia Perez takes her time to explain everything clearly and make sure every student understands the material. You can tell she cares about our success and want everyone to do well, her classes are engaging, organized, and full of helpful tips

Your time and money is better spent elsewhere. I graduated back in 2020 from Veterinary Technician program. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of the concept of trade schools and did well in the program- but as time has gone on and I’m further pursuing career in the medical field, my credits and degree seem worthless- if anything more of a hole in my pocket as it looks like I’m having to back track with my time and money to continue my education. Granted, I was young, impressionable, didn’t understand the difference of "nationally" and "regionally" accredited- honestly a perfect target for counselors to sell the program to. Pima is good enough to get people licensed and quick- But it’s a lost cause academically speaking.

I attended PIMA toward the end of COVID. I started with my VA certificate and went straight into my Vet Tech program. I graduated in 2023 with my associate degree in veterinary technology, and I’m genuinely grateful for all the support I received along the way. My evening instructor in the program Dr G is truly one of a kind. He cared deeply about his students and never lost sight of why we chose this field. He was always there when I needed support, and I can honestly say in the beginning of the programs I was going through some very personal things and heartache he never stopped believing in me. His encouragement meant everything. I’m thankful for the opportunities PIMA gave me and for the doors it has opened. I passed my VTNE on the first try, and now a licensed RVT, something I couldn’t have achieved without their help and guidance. I’ve also made lifelong friends who I now consider family. PIMA didn’t just give me an education it gave me a community I’ll always be grateful for.

I like the location of the installation you able to see the sea far away. Nice fresh sea wing. the design of complex is decent for the amount of students. Talk to the front counter receptionists girls very open and needed to make an appointment with a career specialist. Everything looks okey.

Amazing school environment. The dental assistant program is one of the best ones. The instructor, Ms. Ramirez is a great mentor. Since the first day you feel welcomed and comfortable in the class. She’s very clear with instructions, also comprehensive. You feel motivated every day to go to school. It feels like a family.
