The school’s in a beautiful open space setting with Mission Revival structures. While attending a track and field event, I toured the Pierce College campus and was amazed at the tranquil atmosphere a few blocks from the busy 101 Freeway, within the crowded San Fernando Valley. The curriculum was good for Junior College courses, the students seemed happy with their programs and the sports department had a stadium! Regional track competitions are held at the stadium and at the hill, where cross country teams rough it thru in often difficult conditions, including high temperatures and winds. My group did the dirt trail runs thru the dusty winds! Even the awards ceremony afterwards had the high winds blowing dirt. Notwithstanding the conditions, the runners took it all in stride! Well begun is half done. I restarted studying new major this year after long time college graduation. An architecture was my other interest besides my previous college major. I was afraid to study again while I am employed. However, the staffs and college curriculum helped me to overcome it. I’m happy to study here in Pierce College. The campus looks awesome and wider than I expected. It provides kinesiology programs with a great price or free.
Great campus and friendly people without a doubt. Only bad thing is that they need better maps to help one navigate through their campus.
I like the courses but they got the worst admissions process ever, my application got held up in there spam folder! I called so many times, Joined a couple of zoom meetings back and forth and no one knew why I couldn't get my id; till finally someone checked there spam and there's my application 🙃
I'm a student since 2014. This school makes me really interested in education. They have nice staff. So many help. Many resources available for future development. Highly recommended. I came to this school after private university rip off my $6000 for nothing. Pierce have so many stuff free. I graduate 2018. Pierce College offers courses on more than 100 subjects in 92 academic disciplines, and has transfer alliances with most of the universities in the state. Students at the school successfully transfer to UC and CSU schools. Students can pursue any of the 44 associate's degrees or 78 Certificates of Achievement the school offers directly. Pierce College comprises 426 acres (172 ha) amidst a dense metropolis, an area larger than many university campuses, including that of UCLA. The grounds are landscaped with more than 2,200 trees, thousands of roses and a 1.9-acre (0.77 ha) botanical garden. The Pierce College farm houses small herds of cattle, sheep, goats, and a small poultry flock for its students to learn from. In June 2017, the Los Angeles Community College District Board Of Trustees voted to grant San Francisco Bay Area-based Pacific Dining a concession for dining services, replacing several small vendors at the five LACCD colleges including Pierce.
My experience at Pierce were honestly foundational for my growth as a person. There are many great opportunities and amazing professors on campus. I entered with nothing but apathy, but meeting the faculty and my fellow students, I began to embrace learning, eventually becoming a senator out of genuine love for the school. Don't get me wrong though...there's some really shit professors, and counseling/administration is a pain to deal with...but such is life, especially at community college. If you're ever taking Spanish, take it with Marcelo Mejia!
