Napa Valley Wine Train

My husband gifted me the Chandon Afternoon Tea experience on the Napa Valley Wine Train for my birthday and it was everything I hoped for and more. We usually travel for my birthday, but since I’m still recovering from an ACL injury, we wanted something special that didn’t require too much walking and this ended up being the perfect choice. It truly transported us into a different world, even a different time period. It felt so nice to dress up, sip on some spritz, and enjoy all the little afternoon tea delights while taking in the views. Jose was our speaker/host/server and he absolutely made the experience. At every stop he shared fun facts, stories, and little tidbits, keeping everything engaging, entertaining, and genuinely funny. He definitely had everyone’s attention. Michell, who assisted with serving and preparing the dishes, was also wonderful. Both of them were incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and on top of everything. The entire experience felt unique, elevated, and really special. There were tons of photo opportunities, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere felt luxurious in the best way. Yes, it’s definitely on the expensive side, but TBH, I think it’s worth experiencing at least once. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something memorable to do in Napa!

This review is specific for the "Legacy Experience". Please make sure you read what exactly your booking as reading earlier reviews, there are different packages. Well let me tell you about our 5 star review experience on here as my wife booked this to celebrate our anniversary. This was a 6 hour tour with 3 wine tastings and a 4 course gourmet meal. Our first tasting was onboard the outdoor (covered) car and Oscar was great in explaining about some of the history of the region and then going into depth about the wines we tasted. The 2nd wine tasting was a stop and tour of the Charles Krug winery. The 3rd tasting which was my favorite was at the V.Sattui winery. During the day you’ll start off with a nice light breakfast followed by lunch and at the end a nice dessert. Great thing they also offer gluten free options or alternatives. Oscar and Marina were great in attending to us all throughout the tour and the chefs onboard provided some fabulous gourmet food. At the very end, everyone was invited to gather in the outdoor cart for some mingling and dancing. My hats off to the entire team that made this tour a big hit. We definitely will be back again.

Amazing Amazing Amazing. Went on the wine train with 18 other women for a birthday. It is so clean on the train. The views are so serene of all the vineyards. We did drinks and food which were amazing. Everything was superb. You can't go wrong on this.

I took the 6 hour train ride to celebrate my daughters 21 birthday. I was nervous it would be a long ride and I hoped it was worth the price. Now that I experienced it, I am definitely glad I did. The views were magnificent, the food was both pleasing to the eye and taste. From the breakfast to main course to dessert 100 out of 10. The stops were just perfect and the customer service from the conductor to the host, the server and chefs were amazing and superb. It exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was fun, food was aesthetic and delicious and customer was beyond great!

Our first time experience with the NVWT was such an outstanding and memorable one! The food was exceptional! I would recommend 100%! Wow! What service, care, and enthusiasm! It was a fantastic experience! Thank you to everyone, but a special thanks to Nick and Sandy for taking the extra time to make our 30th wedding anniversary an incredible and spectacular one!

The Napa Valley Wine Train is a fun-filled experience to do while in Napa, especially when celebrating a special occasion! It’s a great way to see much of the valley while getting tasting in as well. I did the Legacy Tour, which I felt was worth the value. Look out for deals, particularly during the holidays for additional savings. For the legacy tour, we got a welcome drink, a four course meal, excellently made by chefs on the train, and 3 tastings— one on the train and then at two different wineries. The meal was very memorable and among one of my favorites in Napa. The staff is amazing — friendly, informative, and kind. Shout out to Alicia and Oscar for make my special occasion one to remember. If you’re celebrating a special occasion like I was, you’ll get a card and special acknowledgment. I highly recommend doing it while in Napa, especially if you wanna get to more than one vineyard and see much of the valley.

The food was good, nice portion sizes, interesting combos. The views of the wineries were beautiful. However at this price point in was expecting wine to be served with each course and to learn more about some of the wineries that we passed. You have to pay for the wine separately. It was basically lunch on the train with pretty views.
