MUSC Health Dermatology at North Area Medical Pavilion

Had 2 dermatologist mistake a basil cell after seeing both for 5 yrs each. Told them needed to be tested after freezing didn't work they were to lazy to do a biopsy and ended up with moes surgery and one had to have a skin graft . I cried because I get an exam every 6 months because I had a melanoma once scared me had a good dermatologist then who cared and caught it in time. He retired. Will not go back to musc mt pleasant, or in N Charleston hwy 78. MUSC use to be the best been with them about 30 yrs,

I wanted to say MUSC have the best Dermatologists,My Doctor name is Richard M.Marchell,I started going to MUSC Health Dermatologists. December of last year 2023, I just had an Doctor's appointment today!I was removing moles call (tags) He was very nice, polite,kind,patience, super cool, knowledgeable of what I have.Dr.Richard Marchell,said my moles (tags) are hereditary and he explained,what he was doing first before he had removed my moles and (tags). Mr.Richard Marchell, numb the areas where my moles (tags) was getting removed without any problems and I felt nothing I asked Dr.Marchell , "did you do the other arm "he said yes,he already finished.I appreciate him to the highest and his nurses.I would recommend Dr.Richard M.Marchell.Thanks again!Latasha Kebede

My dad was scheduled for a procedure here at musc dermalogical surgery center 8992 University blvd 1st floor 1st door on right when you come in. My complaint is that me and my sister came to sit with my mom who felt very anxious about my dad's procedure. One of the ladies behind counter told us o n e of us had to go. Keep in mind only a total of 3 people in waiting room. I understand the masks, social distancing I get it what I don't get is the lack of compassion. If your facing the counter from waiting room the lady on the right is rude and showed no compassion for my mother. In my opinion she has no business taking care of patients. I understand policy but I also understand showing compassion. I offered to sit in another area only 3 people in waiting room plenty of places to social distance and we are all vaccinated. What you did today was unacceptable and I hope this never happens to another patient. Dr shaw is fantastic took great care of my dad but the office staff definately fell short. Very unhappy and will never recommend this place. If your going to force your policy on your patients your staff should be following it. Ladies behind counter are not social distancing according to cdc should be 6 ft apart. pactice what you are enforcing.

Went for a procedure, they were nice while I was in there once I left it was a different story. I called crying in pain and they basically told me to deal with it. The dr didn’t when finish the procedure. He nearly did no work and his assistants did not everything. Needless to say I’ll will not go back.
