Learn Beyond The Book - Northridge location

My family has been taking classes with Learn Beyond the Book for 9 years. I feel like my kids get the best aspects of school here, while maintaining the flexibility and individualization we want from homeschooling. The selection of classes is expansive and the teachers are great. My kids have benefited from having ongoing relationships with their favorite instructors and developing friendships over the years with new and continuing students. It really is a community!

This is my third year of taking classes in Learn Beyond the Book, Northridge Location and my kids and I love it. The site managers, teachers, students and of course parents are the reasons why I drive them an hour to and from where we live. On top of that, the church ground they are renting from is very conducive for my kids - good size playground and lawn where they can enjoy running around without me worrying too much. The children also are very inclusive in a way that older children vibe and play well with the younger ones.

Learn Beyond the Book is exactly what I was hoping for when I began our homeschool journey. My son and daughter have found the teachers to be passionate and engaging, and the classes offer them the benefits of a "traditional" school experience while honoring and respecting our homeschooling lifestyle. Elmarie is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, & accessible and has drawn like minded teachers and families to create a community we are very happy to be a part of!

My son goes to the Northridge location, he has 3 years going there and wants to continue going. He likes to trying new classes so far he's done, Coding, P.E, Fencing, English, Comic book and Cooking class. There's alot of more classes for him to explore, I also love that the teachers are very nice and understanding to our children's needs. And he can't wait for the new Harry Potter class and D&D.

We love Learn Beyond the Book. There are a great amount of options for classes for all interests. Elmarie and teachers are awesome. My sons have been attending classes at the Northridge site for a couple years now. They have a large playground and plenty of grass for the kids to play with other homeschoolers.

My son has had a wonderful time taking classes at Learn Beyond the Book at the Northridge location. The space they have is so open and peaceful. There are even outdoor learning spaces that are so calming that have lots of shade and nature all around. I love that the kids have a great playground area as well as plenty of flowers and grass. The teachers there are the most warmest and most kindest people we have met on our homeschooling journey. I am thrilled to have my son partake in some of the myriad of courses they offer; just this semester he took Botany Across Cultures, Jewelry Making, EarthKeepers about Earth Conservation, Glass Fusion Art, an amazing course in Geology, and even Cake and Cookie Decorating! He cannot wait to go each day for a class or two and he really has learned so much. I am grateful to have found this location because it works so well for us and is easy to get to. He now views school as a positive place with friendly teachers and kind children. He was bullied in the past, so school was a fearful place for him. The peacefulness of the Northridge location and people that work at Learn Beyond the Book has calmed his anxiety, changed his outlook on what school can be, and has even made him feel better about himself. Thank you Learn Beyond the Book at the Northridge campus! Oh! Also they have plenty of parking 🙂

We LOVE Learn Beyond the Book. Our son has been going since 1st grade and is now a teen in High School. We made the mistake of trying a private school for two years afer the pandemic where his learning abilities went down but his anxiety went up! The 1st day back at LBTB he said, "I feel more myself and relaxed." And not he's thriving! The teachers are so engaging and fun. He learns so much! They have the best more interesting classes! He loves his fencing class and history too. Next semester he's excited about Automotive Care and Woodshop! Elmarie who is the head of the school, is such a kind, patient and knowledgeable person. The site managers take good care of the kids and I trust them and know they're in good hands. Our son has made many great friends here and so have I. All the families are great. The school has many wonderful things like field trips, social events, dances, parties, and end of semester presentations, as well as graduation ceremonies with diplomas. It's homeschooling with true school experiences and so much socializing with a great education! They even have year books. I know my son will have cherished memories for life from his years at Learn Beyond The Book! We recommend it to all homeschoolers we know!
