Lucy Korean Hair Salon

Last year, I went to Lucy Korean Hair Salon after seeing recommendations online and got a magic straight treatment. Less than two months later, parts of my hair started curling again. I convinced myself it was because my hair is very stubborn. Also, the original post mentioned that Lucy is best at cutting women’s hair, so I decided to give it another chance and booked a haircut this week. If you’ve ever booked on her website, you’ll know that both men’s and women’s haircuts are scheduled in one-hour time slots. To avoid delaying the next customer, she told me exactly on the hour that the haircut was finished. Unlike most salons, she didn’t show me the back of my head with a mirror. When I got home, I realized the back had been cut into two layers, short on the outside and longer on the inside, and the longer layer was very uneven. After I messaged Lucy about the issue, she asked me to come back after business hours. The first thing she said when I walked in was blaming my hair, saying it was because I had done straightening before. That made no sense to me. The straightening was almost a year and half ago, and most of that hair had already been cut off. Also, since I have naturally curly hair, most stylists blow-dry it straight and may even use a flat iron after cutting, she did the same. So this uneven result had nothing to do with having straightened my hair before. She was clearly rushing to leave work and "fixed" it within ten minutes. Afterward, I checked the mirror and it was still uneven. Another thing is, her haircut price is based on hair length. Since I was cutting long hair short, I confirmed with her beforehand that it would be $60. But when I paid, the POS machine showed $65. I asked "Is it $65?" and she said yes. I don’t know where the extra $5 came from, but on top of that, I added a $10 tip. In the end, I paid $75, made two trips, and still ended up with a bad haircut. All I can say is: thanks online post, for letting me get fooled again.

Lucy is my all time favorite hair stylist! She is super patient and detailed with my hair. Besides the actual hair cutting part, you can get complimentary hair wash if you show up on time as well as styling your hair to finish. I prefer to schedule morning appointments so she has the best energy to take care of my hair.

Lucy is really good! She’s nice, patient, and she listens to you. She adapts the requested hairstyle to your face shape, hair type, and styling habits. When in doubt, she will also recommend on what to do. Overall, I have such a great experience with her!

Lucy did magic to my hair! She respected what I was comfortable with while also bringing in things to the mix that enhanced my natural features. I was with her for 5 hours and every minute she was putting in her best effort and care. Highly recommend! Professional hair care, treatment, and styling.

I think I’ve visited most of the K-hair salon for haircut in the Bay Area, and realized that Lucy was the best hair stylist to me 🙂 She is kind & thorough to consider my goal and figure out what’ll be the ideal version will be. Every time I visit, she renovates me to become a human-being from a beast. I’m afraid she’ll become too popular, and eventually I can’t make a reservation any time soon, but still more than happy to recommend her without hesitation. Thanks Lucy once more!
