Hanwoo Korean BBQ

We came for dinner. A large group us for the first time and our server even asked us if it was our first time there. When we all said yes; no additional information to help us figure out how to do Kbbq was offered. I’d been to another Kbbq place before in Duluth, GA and I have to say this one left a lot to be desired. We were left on our own to figure out how to cook and eat our meals. The Banchan side dishes were not explained to us and neither were the sauces or cooking utensils. Then at the end since we were a large group a tip was charged automatically. Our server did not do a good job and I felt the service most definitely did not deserve $14 per every 2 people. In total we paid almost $100 for two people and the meat choices weren’t that great. I recommend the bulgogi marinated things, and the beef short ribs… everything else lacked flavor. Lastly some of our friends had to sit at a different table because their largest tables fit only 8 people and one of their two grills didn’t work. So they were stuck cooking on only one grill for 8 people.

If you are there on a Mon, Wed or Sat day hours, Michael (aka Saint Michael) is the best server ever. We love the guy. He offers to do things before we can even think to ask. The guy is ahead of the game especially for those with kiddos. He was phenomenal. We walked in during the early bird special. We had been told about this place by our friends at Dippy's ice cream. We couldn't quite understand how it all works. We are used to going and selecting our items from a buffet bar. Here, you choose which menu style. What you choose is the same for the entire group. Rather than get up and choose your items, your server brings them to you every 15 minutes or so. We did the early bird. Order any of the items listed but *NOTE, only 2 proteins per person per round can be ordered. This sounds limiting but if gives folks an idea of portions and is to prevent excessive food waste. It did not feel limiting at all when we ordered just 3 proteins and there were 4 of us eating. *(We ordered a few more every 20 min.) There is table seating, booths & an outdoor area. They have little cow hangers on the beams next to the booths to hang up handbags which was helpful. *^^* The place not noisy although the place was pretty busy. Service was timely & the customer service was excellent. They serve some pretty customary Korean side dishes, offer the option of rice, lettuce and drinks. They serve using cups and plates that are common in Korea. Found that fun! If you ever lived or traveled in Korea it'd definitely bring back memories for ya. We ate and ate and ate.... the ambiance here is perfect for a romantic date or family outing. The modern design with the floor lighting creates a calm, chill environment. The only aspect I prefer at other Korean BBQ joints, was the sauce selection. Here there are 3 sauces to dip your bbq in : 2 sweet soy type sauces and a spicy mayo sauce. Other than that, this place puts the others to shame. That being said, the meat was so flavorful that the sauce didn't matter all that much (*and I'm a sauce person, so....). The quality of meat and shrimp was really good! After our meal, our waiter brought a small yogurt drink along with homemade maccarroons as a parting farewell. *** Rumor has it that one of the EMPLOYEES is the master chef who creates the maccarroons. It was also told to me that, (Fan, is her name) she uses more healthy ingredients and no unnatural dyes. They were so amazing! Seriously, I would visit this location simply for Fan's masterpiece maccarroons! They were not insanely laced with sugar and were the most lovely ending to a great family outing. (*Fan, I agree with Ken... you should probably think about creating your own business full-time. I would order these on the regular!!! He showed us your other masterpieces. We went as a family, all adults, party of six. DIL made a reservation. We were seated on time at a nice size table and very comfortable chairs. Our server, Michael, greeted us and made us feel very welcome and special. He was patient with our questions as this was our first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant. We chose the basic dinner to really gather information about the foods and we were NOT disappointed. The side dishes were surprising and very good. The appetizers were fabulous; the meats offered were tasty and of great quality. Our group are very much foodies! We enjoyed sharing the grill for our meats and vegetables. Everyone tried all the different options. It was a very busy night for the restaurant and we were impressed with our server as he was trying his best to make all his tables happy, with success! Hanwoo has now ranked itself high on our favorites list!

This was a great Korean BBQ spot! Excellent service! Delicious cuts of meat and sides. Great menu! The staff were so nice. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. We will be back!!

We came here while on the way home from Jacksonville. We wanted KBBQ for our anniversary and this place was right off of 95. Our server was Shaylyn and she was amazing. Checked on us frequently, and the staff clearly works together to ensure no table is forgotten. This place is unique as you can order 1 appetizer per person and two meats to start, along with the sides. The appetizers come in small plate serving size which works so you don’t fill up. The food all comes out prepared and delivered so nicely. For dessert they have amazing melon bars. All around great service that is very nice for adults wanting to have a nice Korean BBQ

Food was great. Restaurant was very clean. What made it worth the visit was our server, Alyssa. She was awesome. She welcomed us and took the time to explain the menu and our options. We ordered and got our drinks and apps. She gave us great recommendations and walked my apprehensive wife through the several options of main meat choices. She also made sure our drinks NEVER went below half! I’m not sure if that was because it was a Wednesday evening and we were there early or because she was just that awesome that she gave us such exemplary service, but we are going to go with her being awesome. We will be back to dine again because food was great as well as the service. Thanks for stress free evening.

Amazing place. Our server Gini was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, delivering amazing service to our table. The food was great, and so was all of the other staff!
